According to the student’s reviews online, The average CTC (domestic) is INR 18.33 LPA. All the B-Schools of the country publish their placement reports based on CTC or cost to company numbers.
There is a huge difference between CTC and in-hand salary. So if your question was related to 16 lakhs CTC then it could be a possibility but if your question was related to 16 lakhs in hand salary then it might vary.
The average salary package may also vary depending on the company and your overall academic performance. Some companies offer students a 18-20 LPA salary package but they also have better grades. Whereas some Mass recruiting companies like TCS often give lots of job offers but with a lesser salary package.
Is NMIMS a good college for an MBA?

Cons :
- NMIMS fees are exorbitantly high. The first-year fee is INR 11.95 Lakhs. You also need to consider the expenses of living in Mumbai.
- Hostel faculties for only limited students
- A few faculties have no interest in teaching.
- The placement stats are inflated and thus misleading.
- The MBA batch of NMIMS has a huge batch of around 600 students affecting the quality of education.
- There is a huge gap between the administration and the students.
- Easy entrance exam affects the quality of the crowd.
So, NMIMS was once a great B School but the increasing batch size has affected its reputation largely. You can go for colleges with a smaller batch size and similar fees to get better job opportunities.
How good is it to do Distance MBA from NMIMS?
NMIMS as a brand is really good. But the distance learning program provides much fewer opportunities to students than regular courses.
It is considered as a mere certification program, as they lack the critical elements like involvement in group projects, rigor of the full-time curriculum and peer-to-peer learning.
Hence, it is suggested that if you can afford it, opt for a full-time 2-year PGDM program. IISWBM Kolkata, ITM Mumbai, ASB Hyderabad, GIBS Bangalore, GLIM Chennai, etc. will be a good choice.
How is NMIMS Mumbai for an MBA?
NMIMS Mumbai offers a good MBA program. It has a brilliant faculty base. Most of the faculty members are well-experienced and cooperative. If you are interested, you can research under any professor of your choice. It follows the Harvard case studies. You can learn and participate in the case study competitions.
NMIMS Mumbai placements 2022 had an average CTC of INR 19.40 LPA. While the highest CTC offered by the institute was INR 24.84 LPA. Located in the finance capital of the country, it also offers good exposure to students.
How was your NMIMS interview experience?
A few years back, one of my friends appeared in the NMIMS interview. His overall experience was good. Here is his experience in brief.
After document verification, the first round was the case study. But my friend was given a topic about Net neutrality and Fair pricing. But there was no case written on the sheet of paper. Except for only one of the students from their group, no one had much information about the topic. In the interview, he was asked about his SOP, his family business, etc.
Can someone share his/her NMIMS interview experience?
One of my friends appeared in the NMIMS interview a few years back. Here is his experience in brief.
- His case study topic was related to the competition between Patanjali and Hindustan United Ltd. 5 mins was given for reading the topic and 15 mins were given for discussion. After 12 mins of discussion, the students were informed that they had only 3 mins left. The group consisted of 12 students and there was 3 panelist. Every student had assigned chair numbers for case discussion and no changes were made in sitting arrangements afterward.
- Within 5 mins of completing the case study, he was informed to prepare for the personal interview. The interview duration was 20-25 mins. The interview was taken by 3 panelists. First, he was asked to talk about himself for a bit. There were questions regarding his SOP, his academics, his interests, and Economics. They also asked why he wanted to pursue MBA and join NMIMS.
How is the student life of an MBA student at NMIMS Mumbai?
Life at NMIMS Mumbai begins with early morning lectures starting at 9 AM that go on until 4-4:30 PM. Sometimes, there is a possibility of having additional lectures after 4:30 PM as well. Student Life of an MBA Student at NMIMS Mumbai is challenging, running from one task to another and full of learning experiences. Here are some aspects of the same:
Campus: We have a really big building, and that is it! It is the campus of NMIMS, Mumbai. The Infrastructure is amazing with Air-conditioned Classrooms. NMIMS Mumbai has 2 full-fledged hostels and 4 rented residential accommodations, separately for Boys and Girls. However, the Hostels are too costly and most of the batch prefers to stay outside in Flats.
Clubs and Committees: As the new school year begins, all the Clubs and Committees introduce themselves and invite students to join them. As the students are eager to boost their Resume, they apply for this position in large numbers.
Diversity: At NMIMS Mumbai, students come from all over the country, with different backgrounds. They have various educational backgrounds and work experiences. This mix of people is one of the best in the country and has been unmatched for several years.
How is student life at NMIMS Mumbai?
When you join the course, keep in mind that it will have a significant impact on how you spend your time in Mumbai. If you opt for their flagship PGDM course, expect a rigorous academic schedule that demands a lot of attention, especially if you aim for good internships or placements. Luckily, the location is perfect for any kind of exposure you wish to gain during your stay.

The city of Mumbai provides you with enough opportunities to go out and explore, which you will need to do from time to time. Keep in mind that the cost of living and traveling can be a bit high, so make sure to cross all your Ts and dot all your Is before you move to the city.
