IIT Mandi Reviews on Placements, Faculty and Facilities

Students of Msc. can get placement in the corporate sector as well as in the teaching field ( i.e. in schools, and teaching institutions ). This year there is a recession in the USA so the number of students getting placed in the corporate sector is quite less than the students who got placed in the teaching field but there are sufficiently large numbers of students who got placed.

In Masters, After completing the second semester students are eligible to take placements. Akash BYJU's, ALLEN Career and FIITJEE, Axtria, Decision Point, Amazon, And so many companies are here for hiring students. And Highest package of our class is 25 lakh per year in FIITJEET maths. And out of 45 students those who want placements are got placed(30 students) some of us want to do PhD and other things.

I choose MSc mathematics because have a huge amount of interest in mathematics from the being. The faculty-student ration is good, you don't have to worry about that. All faculty are very well qualified and have done their PhD form very well-satisfied institutes and their technical teaching is very good for every student. Exams are on time, there is no delay and the difficulty level is moderate.

After the second semester, the students become eligible for placements. And there are many companies in the IT sector and education field. Coaching and school axteria, tcs, virtusa. For different companies, there are CGPA criteria. But most companies do not have any criteria.

We have very good placement options. our CnPC cell members work very hard to get companies on campus. Almost everyone who wanted placement was placed in my batch. Others wanted to pursue higher studies. So many companies come here like Amazon, paytm, IBM, Allen, Aakash, fiitjee, Axtria, etc. Around 80-90 per cent of students get placed on avg till the completion of the course.

The placement is very good. This time Mathematics department of IIT Mandi got the highest placement among all the IITs. The average package seemed to be 10 lakhs. Even mine is 11.5 lpa CTC as a project engineer trainee.

I am still studying here but I have heard from my seniors about placements So I may be wrong. It seems to be above average. Above 90% of students were placed in this course. The highest may be around 45 LPA and the lowest was 13 lpa while the average goes around 23lpa. Top companies include Oracle, TCS, etc. Regarding internship around 78% of the course strength got into. The top roles offered were as Data Scientists, Data analysts, etc.

Students are eligible for campus placements starting from the beginning of their 4th year. However, prior to placements, students must complete their internships, which begin in their 3rd year. During the hiring season, many companies visit IIT Mandi, including major recruiters such as Microsoft, Amazon, Adobe, Siemens, Trilogy Innovations (Codenation), Sprinkler, and Google. Other companies, such as Oracle, Uber, Flipkart, Paytm, and Razorpay, also participate in the campus placement program. The highest package offered within India was reported to be INR 62.5 Lakhs, while international packages can reach as high as INR 2 crores. Based on statistics from the previous year, more than 95% of students were placed through on-campus or off-campus placements. After obtaining my degree, I plan to work and support my family financially. After achieving financial stability, I plan to pursue an MBA from an IIM.

Campus placements are good for you if you are in CS, DSE, or EE and want to work in the IT field. For other branches, if you want to opt for core jobs, there are very limited opportunities. Overall avg package of the college is around 20LPA.
