- Teaching here is top notch , the faculty is highly experienced and there are teaching assisstents too which help us in understanding the concepts really well
- Placements of iit mandi are great and more than 400 companies including top companies like amazon, google, microsoft etc.
- Good thing is that college provides scholarship for economically backward students .
Dislikes
- There is a lack of proper course layout, examination systems and management
- Branch change- from 2024 onwards there will be no branch change . i think its bad decision as it was giving opportunities to the students to change their branches if they dont like the course structure .
- Faculty: some faculty are very rude to students and grading is relatively tough.

Placement Experience:
Placements are quite good, the total average package is 18 lakh and the CSE average is 25 lakh, median of 32 lakh per annum. Big tech giants Amazon, Microsoft, Adobe, and Samsung visit the campus every year and take a good amount of students. The highest domestic package is nearly 50 lakh and international even reach 70 lakhs.

Companies came in 4th year for hiring students so in the 8th semester hiring started. Various companies are visited here like Microsoft, sprinkle, uber Google, amazon etc. The highest domestic package is around 70,00,000 and the lowest around 10,00,000 for CSE students. Around 98 percentage students got placement.

All the b.tech students are eligible for placement after the 6th semester and the number of companies visited for placement in 2022 is around 70 the highest package offered was 62 LPA by oracle and the average package was nearly 22 LPA.

Campus placements are amazing here. It boasts very high packages and so does iit mandi. We have an annual average of 20lpa and 31lpa for cse. The highest packages can range from year to year but are usually above 60lpa

On average almost 98% of students get placed from cse department.

Placement is just Awesome. You are eligible for campus placements in the 7th Semester. Microsoft, Google, Adobe, Texas Instruments, Paytm, Accenture, Sprinkle, and the list goes on and on. All these companies hire undergraduates every year. We have the highest domestic package of 72 lakhs, an average of 22 lakhs. You can work in these MNCs as a software developer, application developer, Full Stack Web Developer, and whatnot. After completing my degree, I would like to work with Apple and travel a lot.

I have gone through the faculty profile given on the official website of IIT Mandi. It looks similar to that of all newly established IITs, except for IIT Gn and IIT H, which are better than the others.
One of my friends is also a student of the Mechanical branch at IIT Mandi. Most of the faculty members in the Mechanical branch are married couples. One of them got a job here and after that, they recommended their spouses.
In terms of research, the branch is not that good. Most of the faculties just mug up a research paper and publish a new one. One of the faculties became associate by doing the same. If you want to pursue higher studies in Mechanical, then don’t choose IIT Mandi.
