Remarks

The entrance exam to take admission to my college is JEE Advanced. I gave it in 2021 and secured an AIR of 2972, and got a 4-year B.Tech in CSE at IIT Mandi according to my rank in the Josaa counseling process. Application forms for JEE Advanced can be found on JEE advanced website and the fees are approx. 1000 rupees and 600 rupees for JEE mains. Mains is the prelims for giving advanced. I guess the admission process is quite smooth and nice, and everything happens online without the need to go to college.

Course Curriculum Overview

My parents chose B.Tech CSE because of its average high packages and because it is an evolving sector in engineering. 1:100 - faculty: student ratio. The faculties are amazing most of them have PhDs from foreign institutes and all are well qualified. Term exams happen twice in one semester and are fairly decent to pass.

Internships Opportunities

Many major companies like uber, google, Sprinklr, Amazon, Microsoft, etc. come for internship opportunities during the end of the 4th sem and the start of the 5th sem. Decent projects and cp will help to get through into a good. company. Roles offered are SDE Intern etc. with stipends of 1.5 PM in good companies.

Placement Experience

From the 7th semester, a person is eligible for placements. Many major companies like google, amazon, de Shaw, Sprinklr, Microsoft, etc. come for placements. The highest package - is 1.2 Cr international and the average is 20lpa. The percentage of students getting placement is an almost full batch for CSE. I will try for a decent placement.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees are approx. 1.2 lac per semester. Tuition fees are around 80000 and the remaining 40000 is the mess plus hostel charges. Scholarships are provided to students with less than 5 LPA annual income. Mainly the scholarships are for the economically weaker section and reserved. categories.

Campus Life

The annual cultural fest is Exodia which occurs in April and the major tech fest is Xpecto which occurs in march. All facilities even a swimming pool is available on campus. You can check out the Sntc IIT Mandi website to see the tech clubs of IIT Mandi.

Hostel Facilities

Hostels are neat and clean with 24*7 water ( heated) facilities available. The washrooms are decent. Mess food is good and the messes are common for both girls and boys, unlike other colleges. Hostels are affordable.

Chandigarh-based companies or the startups, and training institutes come here. Companies like Meander Software, Bebo Technologies, Novem Control, BookingKoala - Sales Hungary, etc. companies come. Average package is 3.8 LPA, and 50% students are getting placed. My plans after getting the degree is working in an IT company.

yes they povide placements. After 6th sem, means in 7th sem you are eligible for placement and apply for companies based on their requirements. Google, Microsoft, Adobe, Amazon and many more visits every year. Highest is the PPO of 93 lakhs and placement of 60 lakhs. around 93% are placed who registers for placements Average CTC is around in between 18 to 22 lakhs

Placement Experience:

At NIT Hamirpur, students become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester onwards, and the placement scenario has been quite encouraging in recent years. A wide range of companies such as Infosys, Wipro, L\&T, Capgemini, Tata Projects, and several core as well as IT firms visit the campus every year. The highest placement touched an impressive 2.05 crore offered to a mechanical engineering student, while the overall average package stands at around 10.5 LPA, which is a strong figure compared to many other NITs. The placement percentage remains high, with a majority of students securing offers, especially in branches like CSE, IT, and ECE, though core branches like civil and mechanical also receive good opportunities. The profiles offered include roles in software development, consulting, design, project engineering, and research. After completing my degree, I plan to take advantage of these placement opportunities to gain solid industry experience and later decide whether to pursue higher studies or competitive exams for broader career growth.

IIT Mandi- my home and karmbhoomi

Honestly I initially thought of branch change and college in some what cold place which led me to this college. Our college is moderate in comparison to other iits, obviously you cant compare it with old iits , but yeah its decent enough, having good students and friends. Placement of four college is better than other iits. Some years result in placement ogf good no. of students whereas some leads to okish. The sport facilities are ok. Swimming pool is not of olympic size and it requires lot of time for repair of the sport equipments. Admission process is through Jossa counselling after JEE Advanced. I applied for VIT, NIT BHOPAL, IIT Jodhpur, IIT Jammu, IIT BHU, IIT Ropar, NIT Durgapur, and many of the IITS and NITS. I choose only this so, didn't fill for confirmation for others. IIT MANDI KE ANSUNE KISSE

The admission process at IITs are generally common through a cmon entrance exam all over India named jee mains for nits and then after qualifying in that we need to score good in jee advanced. There are reservations for sc, st, obc and economically backward classes. Like you can get good branches with lower marks. For example in computer science you can get 6000 rank for obc but around 2000 for general candidates....Read More
