Likes

The best part about this college is connection witb nature
Good connections with alumni being an iit
Focus on innovation, along with the support of catalyst, the incubation center

Dislikes

Not good placements stat wise, could be better
80% attendance rule is there, which is not good
The management is not very good in terms of understanding students

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is dependent on various factors Some of the courses are truly up to date, however in some, the teaching style and the expectations are very old school, which needs to be improved

Internships Opportunities

There are decent internship opportunities, including big companies such as Microsoft, Google, Flipkart, etc Stipend varies from company to company, ranging from 25000 to about 150000 and depending on the internship type, like remote or in spot

Placement Experience

The placements here at iit mandi are changing with years In Covid times, they were at peak, with noticeable decline due to recession and tough market The media package is around 23 lacs for cse and varies branch wise

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees for odd semesters for General is around 1,40,000 and for even semesters is around 1,25,000 This includes 1,00,000 tuition fees, and other charges includes medical charges, etc For sc st this 100000 is waived

Campus Life

The best part about this college is that we have a direct link with nature One of the most popular tourist destinations are just 1-2 hours travel from here, and there are so many trek opportunities available

Hostel Facilities

Hostel accommodation has been poor recently, with large no of students coming in a single batch, and the management stupidly deciding to give accommodations based on cgpa, which is clearly a bad move.

Admission

As going to iit was my dream I chose this college because considering my rank, I could get branch like civil engg in first gen iits, and computer science at third gen iits Thus is was the best option for me, with a decent college and good branch

The faculty to student ratio is around 1: 10, which is good Most of the faculties are professors from other iits only, which is good in terms of teaching As per the name, satvasheel povar is one of the best faculty here Dinesh Singh is the faculty I didn't like

Likes

Infrastructure and quality of education and supportive professor for building our success career
Very supportive atmosphere for growth in any engineer branch
Very good approach towards creativity innovations and practical projects

Dislikes

Lack of auditoriium so most of gathering will be in open air theatre

The placement opportunities at my college are average. A few reputed companies visit the campus each year, but the number of offers and salary packages varies depending on the branch and market conditions. Students who have strong academic performance, technical skills, internships, and good communication skills generally have better chances of getting placed.

The campus really respects diversity. Students from different states and countries study together and that inclusion makes a big difference
The infrastructure and fab faculties are unmatched, for people dedicated to carrying out research, they have almost everything atvtheir disposal
Extra curricular activities make sure one is involved in multiple volunteery things rather than just academics

Dislikes

Relevant placement opportunities with good packages can be improved
The fee for courses could be regularised
Mode of exam conduction should be completely offline to ensure transparency

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for placements in last semester. They can choose to sit in placements and select if they would like to join the company theyve been selected for. Eligible candidates do end up getting great packages

Campus is very good and nice view from college
Faculty is polite and very helpful and kind

Dislikes

Very less internship and placement option
Very slow wifi speen and only 1 gb per day

Course Curriculum Overview:

Updated to align with NEP-2020 guidelines starting from 2023 onward. CSE (AI & DS) branch includes modern subjects like Data Science, Machine Learning, Python, Cloud basics. Core branches (ECE, ME, EE, CE) follow standard Indian engineering frameworks with essential subjects. Syllabus similar to other govt engineering colleges under HP Tech University, so fairly up to date.

the fee structure are affordable for any one and hostel are also very cheap
they also help student to build cinfidence as many event are there so a person can loose his stage fear
the support of teacher for students is very good

Dislikes

i would say that the computer labs are not in very good conditions
the computer are not even advantageouos for aiml student
the infrastructre is not that good even no wifi facility

Placement Experience:

so as the first batch of cse ai ml is going to passout this year so there is no record of placement but hoping that their placement would be good as per teacher's expectations and also they provide intership in iit mandi

The faculty and staff are well qualified appx. all are phd .
The junior senior interaction is good .
There is good coding culture and all senior all helpful .

Dislikes

Area of college is 15 km from una city .
The curriculum us hectic in each semester it has atleast 6 subject.

Placement Experience:

My college offer above good placement . About 85-90% of the eligible student get placed with median package of 9 lakh and average of 11 lakh . Our placement incharge is Nistha Hooda. Highest placement is of 60 lakh and minimum is 4 lakh

Likes

Hostel fees is quite less despite providing many facilities.
Mess food is tasty and campus is small but clean and beautiful.
Curriculum is up-to-date. Teachers are helpful and friendly.

Dislikes

There are many unnecessary restrictions in hostel.
Sometimes you have too wait too long for food in mess.
Less events are organized and sports infrastructure is not too good.

Placement Experience:

Placements are average , it totally depends on the students skills and their cgpa. From 5th sem students become eligible for campus placements. TCS, Infosys, Redhat vistited the campus and made more than 200 offers. 171+ companies visited. Highest package is 1.11cr, average is 6lpa. 70% students gets placed. Planning to go in tech related jobs in industries after getting the degree.

I like the campus, there is greenery all over the campus.
Sports and cultural clubs and the festivals
very good wifi facility in the campus. And good gender ratio in institute

Dislikes

Climate is hot during summer. But winters are appreciable
Mess food is not good that much.. but we can eat.
Sometimes in hostel there is non availability of water . In bathrooms

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because it has more scope in India as India is a developing country. It also has government jobs more than other fields. We can shift to it sector this is the flexibility of this course.

IIT Mandi- my home and karmbhoomi

Honestly I initially thought of branch change and college in some what cold place which led me to this college. Our college is moderate in comparison to other iits, obviously you cant compare it with old iits , but yeah its decent enough, having good students and friends. Placement of four college is better than other iits. Some years result in placement ogf good no. of students whereas some leads to okish. The sport facilities are ok. Swimming pool is not of olympic size and it requires lot of time for repair of the sport equipments. Admission process is through Jossa counselling after JEE Advanced. I applied for VIT, NIT BHOPAL, IIT Jodhpur, IIT Jammu, IIT BHU, IIT Ropar, NIT Durgapur, and many of the IITS and NITS. I choose only this so, didn't fill for confirmation for others. For eligibility criteria, you have to pass in 10th and 12th boards. I went to Kota for jee preparation and I also took a drop in 12th. after I filled out the Jossa counseling form I got an IIT mandi with the electrical branch. You should have 75% marks on the 12th board. otherwise, you can't sit in jee advanced exam. fee for jee mains form is 1000 rupees and Foer jee advanced is 2900. you can fill out Jee's mains form nearly december and jee advanced in around april.counselling time you should have all document which is compulsory for filling this form....Read More
