Likes
- The people or the batchmates here are very helpful . Everyone feels like family here . We people enjoy together , go on treks, visited and explored new places in Himachal Pradesh . The thing here is that the whole campus is surrounded by mountains...
- The food is tasty , as compred to kota which i resided during my jee days . The quality of food is good . No issues in it
- Teaching here is top notch , the faculty is highly experienced and there are teaching assisstents too which help us in understanding the concepts really well
Dislikes
- The campus is beautiful but it is not so large as compared to other government colleges. But it's fine though.
- They teach subjects like Engineering drawing to even Computer science students in the 1st year . But that's not a huge problem ig 😂
- The fests that are conducted here are really small level of fests, it can be much more fun . But it depends on us to conduct them , so no say on that
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is highly efficient to every branch . The top faculty along with other IIT's prof. make the curriculum . Even the core branch students like (mech, elect , Civil, etc) can do minor in CSE and get a job in tech field Some of the exams are tough while some of them are moderate , so you have to study to get good cgpa, one nighter did'nt work here at all
Internships Opportunities
As It's an IIT there are many companies that come here for placements . Many companies come here for interns . They often offer PPO (pre placement offer) to hired students. So its better to start learning the coding as early as you can
Placement Experience
The placement of the college are excellent . The college has an average package of 24lpa for all branches and about 30+ lpa for computer science and data science . Even the package for civil is nice about 18-20 lpa. So as for placement consider this college
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee here is as given by government of India . Scholarships are also available for the students , criteria for scholarship is defined . I didn't know much. We students can also work as TA(TEACHING ASSISSTENT) here under any course and they get paid for it too
Campus Life
In my case , I was an introvert kid , but when i entered my college and meet people here , i find them interesting. You will surely find your gang in college. When you come as fresher in college , there is an initial week called induction week where college does some activities to make people comfortable
Hostel Facilities
Every thing is fine with hostel and the facilities here are fully equipped . There are coordinated assigned for hostel affairs , which is elected through elections and he takes every responsibility and take care of all stuffs in the hostel
Admission
The admission process is like first we have to verify all the documents via officials . We students also help some freshers to help them in verifying the documents . The faculty registered for administration will help you in this case.
Faculty
As in 1st year everyone have same classes and there is no separation among students but for 2-3 subjects in 2nd sem . The teachers and teaching assisstences here in IIT MANDI are highly qualified , and one can easily ask doubt and other things in the middle of the ongoing class or even after the class.
