Admissions to Delhi Technological University (DTU) are primarily based on JEE Mains scores, managed through the Joint Admission Committee (JAC Delhi). Higher-demand courses like Computer Science require better ranks, with some students securing seats with a rank as high as 18,000. NRI students are admitted using SAT Subject Test scores. The faculty at DTU is well-regarded, with many holding PhD degrees, and the faculty-to-student ratio is about 1:60 for theory and 1:20 for practical classes.

Although teaching quality is generally good, it can vary across departments. DTU's examination system includes mid- and end-semester exams with a lenient grading system.
