Hostel is optional and billed separately. The fee is comparable to most government management schools and makes DTU MBA a value option in Delhi-NCR.

Ques. What CAT or CMAT score is required for DSM DTU MBA admission?

Ans. DSM DTU does not publish a rigid cutoff, but candidates generally need a CAT percentile of 30 or above for the General category as per CMAC norms. Scores from MAT and CMAT 2026 are also accepted. The final merit rank combines the exam percentile with Group Discussion and Personal Interview performance, so interview preparation matters as much as the exam score.

Ques. What career options are available after DTU MBA Human Resource Management?

Ans. DTU MBA HRM graduates typically move into HR business partner, talent acquisition, training and development, and organisational development roles. Recruiters visiting DSM include consulting firms, IT companies, manufacturing conglomerates, and public sector enterprises in the Delhi-NCR belt. The programme’s industry immersion projects and guest lectures help students build practical HR skills alongside the degree.

Ques. Is DTU DSM MBA better than private B-schools for HR specialisation?

Ans. DTU DSM offers a government university tag, lower fees, and access to DTU’s industry network, which is an advantage for cost-conscious students. Private B-schools may offer stronger national and international alumni networks. For HR roles in Delhi-NCR, DSM’s brand is well-recognised. Students targeting consulting or high-frequency trading roles typically prefer IIMs or top private schools over DSM.

Ques. What is the difference between MBA and MBA HRM at DTU DSM?

Ans. The general MBA at DSM offers broad electives across Finance, Marketing, Operations, HR, IT, and Analytics, while MBA Human Resource Management focuses specifically on people management, organisational behaviour, labour laws, talent acquisition, and compensation strategy. Both programmes carry the same fee of INR 4,83,400 and are admitted through the same CMAC counselling process.

Ques. Can I apply to DTU DSM MBA with only a CMAT score?

Ans. Yes, CMAT 2026 alone is sufficient to apply through the CMAC portal for DTU MBA HRM. The selection also includes Group Discussion and Personal Interview at DTU, which carries significant weight in the final merit calculation. Students with a strong CMAT score and good communication skills have a good chance of securing admission at DSM.

DTU: 2 Answered Questions

Should I opt for DTU mechanical or IIIT Delhi CSE?

Sanjana KapoorLives in New Delhi

The choice depends on what matters the most to you.

If placements, faculty and research opportunities are your top most priority, choose IIIT Delhi CSE. In this respect, IIITD CSE beats DTU Mechanical by a large margin. But if you want the best of campus, college environment, cultural fests and brand name, DTU Mechanical is a much better choice.

I would personally recommend IIIT Delhi, as it offers top notch placements. But if you’re truly passionate about Mechanical, choose that branch. Do not take your interest for granted while choosing your branch/degree.

Are courses in DTU and NSIT flexible? Can students from lower branches study a minor in C.S. easily?

Akriti Banerjeelives in New Delhi

As an NSUT student, the new CBCS (choice based credit system) allows you to choose your fields of study. This makes for more flexible courses. Also, NSUT has an excellent coding environment which will help you for your minor in Computer Science. Many students over there pursue coding, despite being from a branch other than IT/COE.

In DTU, you will have electives starting from 5th semester. These are department and general electives. IIIT Delhi offers the most flexible courses. Other than some fixed category credits, all the subjects are choice based.

Thus, in terms of providing flexible courses, this is the order of preference- IIITD> NSUT>DTU.
