Indira Gandhi Agricultural University (IGAU) is a public university located in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, India established on January 20^th, 1987. IGAU is recognized by UGC and has 15 affiliated colleges and 16 constituent colleges and offers a range of education in professional and academic courses in in three faculties i.e. Agriculture, Horticulture and Agricultural Engineering. Ph.D. (Doctor of Philosophy)

Candidates with the relevant PG qualification can register for the above-mentioned program. The university provides reservation of seats/ relaxation of marks for SC/ST/OBC etc. as per the rules of the Government and norms of the university.

Candidates can register for admission by filling the online/offline application form and submitting the required processing fee. Admission to PG programs is done on the basis of merit of the candidate in entrance test (CET) conducted by the university followed by counseling.

IGAU PhD Admission Process

Admission to above courses shall be based on the merit to be determined by the entrance examination (CET), provided the candidates fulfill the minimum eligibility criteria.

The entrance test for the above course shall be based on the syllabus of the qualifying degree.

Counselling:

The candidates who are selected in the entrance examination/merit list are required to participate in the interview/counseling process. Candidates are directed to bring the application form, photocopies and the originals of the following documents for the purpose of verification at the time of counseling:

• State domicile certificate for candidates of Chhattisgarh state
• Last semester report card and/or provisional degree certificate 
• Permanent caste certificate (For SC/ST and OBC candidates) 
• No objection certificate by in-service candidates of Chhattisgarh Agriculture Department 
• PH (physically handicapped) certificate issued by Napier Town, Jabalpur for PH candidates if claiming for PH quota

Scholarships:

The university has several provisions to provide scholarships to the candidates who are undergoing various courses offered by the university. The university offers the following scholarships:

• Merit scholarships
• Merit cum means scholarships
• Partial/full free ships to the deserving candidates
• Scholarships for SC/ST candidates
• Scholarships are given by Government of India
• Scholarships are given by the State government
• Fellowships for scholars

Placement Cell: The University has a full-fledged Placement Cell named as “Industrial Co-ordination Unit” which provides essential information and guidance to the students of the Campus for their employment opportunity. Various reputed companies visit the university campus every year and provide placement and internships to a number of candidates in the reputed companies/NGO.

How To Apply?

The candidates can apply for admissions by filling and submitting the complete application form along with the required amount of processing fee and important documents. Candidate can obtain the application from the office of the registrar or can log on to the university website in and follow the subsequent steps:

• Ensure the eligibility criteria and possession of an active mail-ID
• Fill up all correct details in Application Form
• Upload the required documents
• Pay the application fees either through online mode by using their debit/credit card or net banking option. Fees can also be paid offline via challan/in shape of crossed Demand Draft in favor of "Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Raipur (C.G.)" payable in Raipur
• Submit the application form
• Application form duly completed in all respect along with self-addressed envelope (23"x10") affixed with postal stamps of Rs. 20/-. should reach the Registrar, Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Krishak Nagar, Raipur (Chhattisgarh) 492-006
• Candidate must keep the hard copy of application form for future reference.

Candidates are directed to submit the soft copies of the following documents along with application form:

• Domicile Certificate
• Caste Certificate, wherever applicable
• Certificate showing date of birth
• Mark sheet/Certificate of the qualifying examination
• Other relevant documents

NOTE:

• The application fee for OBC of Chhattisgarh and Unreserved category: Rs. 400/-
• The application fee for SC/ST of Chhattisgarh: Rs. 100/- 
• The application fee is non-refundable
• The candidates appearing in the entrance test have to bring their admit card and identity proof at the entrance examination center.
• The list of qualified candidates will be declared on the website.
