Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, located in the rice bowl of India is an educational institution serving for the acceleration of growth in agriculture of Chhattisgarh since its inception in 1987. The journey which started as ‘Labhandi Farm’ is evolved into a huge campus of Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya. The University offers a plethora of courses in Agriculture Discipline through Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Ph.D. programs. The University has 23 constituent government colleges and 15 affiliated private colleges.

IGKV Admissions

The admission in B.Sc. Agriculture/Horticulture is confirmed on the basis of merit in the CG PAT of the State Board. Admission in B. Tech. of Agriculture Engineering is offered on the basis of performance in the Pre Engineering Test (PET).
The admissions to Post Graduate courses are allocated based on the merit in the Common Entrance Test(CET) for graduates of Agriculture.
For Ph.D. also a Common Entrance Test is conducted by the university and admission criteria includes-performance in CET, academic score in Post-Graduation and written and oral tests.

Library

The Nehru Library which is a hub for all associated colleges has around one lakh resources which include books, reports, thesis, journals, e-resources and other reference materials.
The library is subscribed to more than 200 journals and 3,500 online journals associated with Agriculture and other subjects.
The Library is furnished with modern services which include Wi-Fi connectivity, CCTV and anti-theft security systems.

Infrastructure

The campus is Wi-Fi enabled with internet access for departments and students. The classrooms are well-maintained and have screening facilities for lectures and video conferencing.

Sports

Games like Football, Volleyball, Cricket, Table Tennis, badminton have been prevalent in the university. Ample facilities of sports are available for the young sportsperson at the campus. The students have also won many laurels in the field of Sports.

The campus is very beautiful and huge which involves a lot of field of the college facilitating the students to learn more practically.
The social interaction is not so good but mediocre and I like being in normal surrounding so it's good for the people like me.
The faculties in this college are good as expected there mighty be some teachers who'll make you dislike the subject but if you'll just avoid them it's your good win.

Dislikes

The timing is not so good for hostels. In hostels the gate is closed at 10pm.
In college some faculty interaction can make you feel tired and frustrated as every colleges do.

Academic structure and curriculum in the campus

JiThe scope related with this course will make your ways to not so much but very important ones which I personally liked for example there is AFO and NABARD which one can pursue and can get into a decent job required to thrive well. And for the real world it comes to practical knowledge in farming which is very useful is one is following farming practices in field. The frequency of examination is good and timing is good when it's in the morning 9 am but not good when it comes to giving examinations in the afternoon.

Campus internship opportunities and stipend

One of The companies is syngenta it's a very popular seed company in chhattisgarh. The salary in there varies but in a good post one can earn about 55000 per month . And there a lots of other companies may visit in this college which pick students based on their attitude and practical skill.

Yearly fees of the course and scholarship

The year wise fees I pay is about 18 thousand rs. The registration fee, caution fees, tuition fees, admission fees, development fees, lab fees and the other charges are included in the 18 thousand. If the students has applied in self financed then it will cost him/her about 1 lakh 10 thousand for college fees hostel charges excluded. This college will provide you Post matric scholarship which provides about 33 thousand to ST category students.

Students views about the campus life

There are festivals in the college like annual festival and also on the regional importance day there are so many events programs one can notice. The smart study tech is available.The teachers are trained to teach students in protected information and in any time soon there will be a digital board which will facilitate learning.

What are facilities available in the college hostel?

In the room of hostel you will have a table for studying,a normal bed which you can adjust to make more comfortable,an almira for arranging your clothes and miscellaneous items. The registration process is very there is DSW a body which helps students from getting hostels. And the food quality is good I mean it's not that bad to leave the food untouched. And a small market near the hostel held in every week. And the price for hostels is so cheap.

Faculty and examination pattern of the college

The faculty student ratio is very low there are 2 teachers/faculty for 120 students in class that may affect the study nature. There's a mam last name is Sinha so we call her mostly Sinha mam she's so kind and gentle with students. There are avg. 9 subjects and each of theory subjects will have 1 midterm and 1 written in practical and 1 final which is end sem exam.

Admission process and eligibility criteria of the college

I haven't applied for any other colleges. To take admission in our college you must have to score well in the pre agricultural test (PAT) an entrance exam and you can take admission by clearing ICAR UG examination as well. PAT Is mostly followed by students and the cutoff carries from Category for UR it vary around 120 marks out of 200.

There is a digital library in the college which makes it easier to study.
The college campus is very good, there are many fields for practical purposes in which we can plant crops.

Sitting arrangements are not good desk is small size

Admission:

I was already very interested in agriculture so chose this course. Apart from this, I did not apply for admission in any other college because I only studied agriculture. To take admission in agriculture college, first test has to be given which is called pat (pre agriculture test) if you have qualified then you will be given college according to your rank.

IGKV, a very affordable yet very complicated place to live inn

The campus is large with all the facilities of accomodation and the food is also affordable for students coming from different places.
Very clean environment and neatness in the campus with good management.

Dislikes

Books in the library are not up to date with the current versions.
There's a bit partiality on the basis of colleges which are situated in different cities.

Admission:

I chose this college because at the time I was choosing this course there was a very high demand for this course, I also filled forms for Pt. Ravishankar University in Raipur Chhattisgarh but I choose IGKV because agriculture was the talk of the town at the time . Your have to clear the pre agriculture test conducted by CG vyapam to get an admission in IGKV

I applied in CUET PG and i scored well enough to get admission in central university of punjab and similar colleges but i have some personal issues, so i decided to not go to other states other than chhattisgarh and its connecting states. The admission process requires a entrance exam in which i got 11th rank in over 20 thousand students so i didn't had any difficulty. The admission is accepted by IGKV-CET, AIEEA-PG and ICAR-JRF exam only.

the infrastructure of college is pretty good,study friendly environment,placement facility also available,professers are highly educated and well exprienced.

my college name is Dau kalyan singh college of agriculture & research station bhatapara comes under IGKV university raipur,if you want to get addmission in this university so simply there is 2 ways ,1st one is state pre agriculture test (CGPAT) and 2nd one is ICAR cuet exam .if you get good marks so there is chance to get admission in this college. i choose this college because i have interest in agriculture and this college is pretty good for agriculture student.

I didn't applied to another colleges, I wanted to study in IGKV so I gave the competitive exam PAT for admission here. And I got selected , only students having chattisgarh State domicile can give this exam . If you are not from chattisgarh you can also give the ICAR EXAM TAKEN BY NTA. Cutoff should be under 1000

The cultural event are held timely with joy and fun.
The coconut garden campus is awesome in whole state.

The distance of market area is 8 km from college.

I choose this college becoz this is ICAR accredited college. This is best for the student who are interested for further study in ICAR campus . Admission process start with entrance exam CGPAT and after result according to you rank you got college.

University organise sport fest and cultural fest on yearly basis
The college building is good. Classrooms are spacious and arranged.
The girl and boys ratio is almost 50-50.

Dislikes

The university do not have any official student union neither they conduct student union election like other universities (DU,RU)

Admission:

I gave an ICAR entrance exam . So I got this college in my 1st round college I choose it because it was nearer to my home as compared to other colleges that I fill up in my choice filling . The university raking at the time of admission was also pretty good

The candidate seeking admission to 4 years full-time B.Sc program candidate should have obtained first division / 50% marks / equivalent grade at 10+2 level in the subjects of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry/ biology/ biotechnology from Chhattisgarh board or any recognized board of school education in the country.
