Scholarship: this college have really great facility of scholarships for needy people.
Faculty to student ratio is great and small strength class provide a great personalized experience and teaching to students .
The college fest is a perfect great opportunity to learn and grow.

Dislikes

I think that they lag in their way of teaching.
Hostel condition especially for the first year hostel which is provided that is shivalik hostel is worst
Staff is not so good. they take extra classes and non of the things they explain are clear

Peaceful ,good infrastructure and Labs are available

Long class durations around 25hours per week

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities from the college are good renowned companies like BMW JP Morgan Mechenzi American Express come for placements .Earlier more Big MNCs came but are now shifting towards other colleges due to depleting rank of the college

Great opportunities but mediocre campus life

Likes

The placement and internships are very well systemised and the placement cell is very responsive and active
The faculty is very knowledgable and some professors are renowned in their fields.
Co-curricular activities and clubs are very diverse and active. There are many things to explore and enjoy

Dislikes

The infrastructure in some departments is very old and not maintained.
The wifi services in some buildings is not good enough or functional

Placement Experience:

The placements are really good. You can see many renowned MNCs and companies coming here for placements for example Amex, JP Morgan, Microsoft, etc. The placement cycle starts in the 7th semester. The average package is around 8lpa.

Campus built up, focuses a lot on greener and better environment campus
Placement Assistance as there is a separate cell that focus on placements and internship
Relative Marking in overall course or degree

Dislikes

Focuses more on theoretical knowledge than practical ones
Every department is not similar like cse and ece department is given more prefernce and then other

Placement Experience:

I have an on campus job offer at CollegDunia Itself and students can do internship in 6th semester and FTE after graduatuion. Companies like Samsung, DE SHaw, Mckinsey, Bain and other big companies also visited the campus.

College review on Punjab engineering college (PEC) , Chandigarh

Likes

The pec market where you can have your all daily requirements like stationary, food, grocery, sbi bank also, Nescafe ,..etc
You can rest in library in your free time in AC
College located in city so markets are near

Dislikes

Education system is so bad here they just send you from here to there like the banks does.
No president system here so college do there dictatorship.
And college is not that big half of college covered by residential area.

Placement Experience:

From 7th semester you are eligible for campus placement. Mostly all big companies you heard of, visit here like Amazon, apple, Microsoft,... because it's a 100 years old college, and this college is only good because of its college placements. More than 50 to 60 percent get placed but it differs by branch you can detailed information on pec.ac.in After degree I'm going for ese exams preparation.

If company we start coming to college form 7th semester many companies like Google Microsoft Amazon Apple Airbus etc comes to the college and number of offers made or nearly about 350 the highest package this year was 84 lpa and the average was 23.5 lpa.

Likes

The culture of the college. Seniors are very supportive and helpful.
There are many cultural clubs and technical societies in the college and apart from academics, extra curricular activities are give an equal importance.
Huge campus area and market inside the campus is also very nice.

Dislikes

The infrastructure of the college needs a huge improvement. It is very old and definitely needs an upgrade.
Sometimes the time table becomes a bit hectic. You might have a class in the morning and the next class might be 2 hours later.
The auditorium of the college is very small and there is definitely a need for a new and big auditorium.

Placement Experience:

College provides internship opportunities after 2nd year and placements usually start after 3rd year. In the year 2022-2023, a total of 518 offers were made with highest package of 83 lpa, average package of 15.97 lpa and a median package of 12 lpa.

PEC CHANDIGARH INSIGHTS

Likes

Strong Alumni network: This college is one of the oldest engineering college because of that it has the strongest Alumni network which really helps in funds and placements of students.
Scope of doing anything you want: In this college if you have the will the do something great whether it is in the research field or sports, this college have the potential to make you great.
Scholarship: This college have really great facility of scholarships for needy people.

Dislikes

Maintenance: Very poor hostels, no maintenance of hostels are there.
Poor food quality: When you are in 1st sem till date they serve you very good and tasty food, timely they decrease there food quality time by time.
Faculty Expertise and Mentorship:The faculty at PEC is generally well-regarded. Many professors hold advanced degrees and have significant research and industry experience.

Course Curriculum Overview:

When you talk about what are the things that influenced me to take this course is "my rank" of JEE . At my rank in this college max i can get is this course and the quality of college and placements stats are the most imp thing that impact me. Curriculum is well defined proper labs are there for experiments, whatever is teaching in class. Because of relative grading its not very tough to score here if you study 1 week before midsem and 2 week before endsem exams then you score good enough for every company cuttoff.

College Review - PEC Chandigarh

Likes

Liked the lush green campus and the beautiful gardens and sporting facilities.
The supportive seniors and mentors for mental health in campus which has made it ragging free.
The great alumni network of college with almost a century old history.

Dislikes

The place as a whole is very expensive and therefore accommodation outside can be difficult.
The other small things like some faculties and a not very rich social circle because almost 50% students are from Chandigarh quota.

Placement Experience:

The placements of the college are very good even in the very disturbed job market. The number of companies were about 200 and visited were Amex, JP Morgan, Goldmann Sachs, Deloitte, p&g, Microsoft, Google, Infosys, HCl are the popular ones.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is also as same as other nits and iits, there are both subject courses and communication course to improve human value and ethics. There are mid sems and end sems, 1:30 hr and 3hr respectively. And many quizes and viva in between of both lab and theory classes.
