Faculty to student Ratio is 1:60 . All the professors are quite qualified to do their job. They teach well and are dedicated. Exams are conducted twice in a semester and the difficulty level remains from moderate to high level and it gets somewhat to score well because a good amount of weightage goes to assignments and practicals

Based on the rank I secured in JEE-mains and my interests I chose mechanical engineering in this college and its location is quite good as well. The faculty is supportive except for a few teachers which are worse. The faculty members are highly qualified and teaching methods are appropriate as required. exams and quizzes are conducted regularly within 2 months and it's not much tough to pass
I chose this course because I liked physics and my rank was not good to get me into Computer Science. The faculty-student ratio is 1:30. Almost each faculty member has done MTech and many have got Ph.D.. Exams are held two times a semester. Marking is very strict. You can pass if you study one night before but you'll not get good grades. Getting good grades is not easy here. Few get 9 pointer CGPA at the end of the course. Professors don't take much interest in teaching. So most of the time we're watching NPTEL videos to clear the exams.
The course curriculum is nicely designed and well structured to keenly implement the outcomes of courses. Faculty members are highly educated and well-trained and are also quite involved in research with students. I chose this particular course as I had a good interest in mechanical engineering and also the college was able to provide ample opportunities in this particular field. College is able to bring good companies for placements. Faculty to student ratio is 1:20 (counting only full-time faculty) excluding part-time faculty. Every faculty is required to have a PhD MTech BTech in the specified courses. Additionally for Professor 10 years of experience and 6 research papers published are a must, for an associate professor 8 years of experience and 6 research papers are a must, for an Assistant Professor these are not required. The teaching methodology is completely dependent on the professor. Exams are held as per the Academic calendar and no delay occurs.
I opted for mechanical, most of the professors were quite accomplished in their field but I won't say they created interest within students as in most of the colleges in India. But PEC is pretty good with the placements especially in the circuital sector not so good with the non-circuital sector though.
I was interested in cars that's why I chose Mechanical Engineering. The faculty is well qualified but the teaching method remains traditional and many a time, boring. Term exams are quite difficult and their overall standard depends on the faculty.
i choose this course based on my rank in JEE Mains 1:32 PHD In a semester, first we had mid sem exams and then end semester exams. Exams were very difficult and hardly any time was given for prepration. There were 2 mid sem exams in a day and there was no holiday in end sem exams also.

PEC, Chandigarh is a highly reputable institute that offers various undergraduate and postgraduate programs in engineering, including Mechanical Engineering. The college has a strong industry connection and provides excellent placement opportunities for its students.
Here are some key facts about the placements for Mechanical Engineering in PEC, Chandigarh:
With a good placement record, a strong industry connection, and a wide range of job opportunities, PEC is a great choice for students who want to pursue Mechanical Engineering and build a successful career in the field.
Choose what interests you. If you are interested in Chemical Engineering, BITS Pilani is a great option. It offers decent academics and exposure. Core Chemical companies and oil companies recruit from the institute. Schlumberger, ONGC, Reliance, etc. are among the major recruiters for the branch. BITS Pilani placement highlights show the average CTC to be around INR 12 LPA for Chemical Engineering.
But if you are interested in Mechanical Engineering, you should choose PEC Chandigarh.
NIT Kurukshetra or PEC Chandigarh are the best options for you. You can certainly cross NIT Jalandhar off your list.
The practical labs at NITJ are not well-equipped, and the majority of the equipment is broken. The faculty, on the other hand, is excellent. You should not make NITJ your top priority.
Both Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering at PEC Chandigarh are great options. You should choose one of these courses based on your preference. The placement opportunities offered are similar, except Mechanical students are allowed for less number of coding job profiles. So, if you are interested in coding, choosing Electrical will be better. According to PEC Chandigarh placement highlights of recent years, the average CTC for these branches stays in the range of INR 5-12 LPA.
Choosing between NIT Patna in ECE and PEC Chandigarh in Mechanical Engineering can be a difficult decision. It depends on your interests, career goals, and personal preferences. Here are some factors to consider that can help you make an informed decision:
NIT Patna in ECE:
PEC Chandigarh in Mechanical Engineering:
Therefore, to choose between the two, you need to consider your interests, career goals, and your preferences. If you are interested in electronics, communication, and signal processing, and want to pursue a career in this field, NIT Patna in ECE may be the best choice for you. However, if you are interested in mechanical engineering, design, manufacturing, and robotics, and want to work in industries such as manufacturing, aerospace, or energy, PEC Chandigarh in Mechanical Engineering may be a better option for you.
One of my friends is an alumnus of PEC Chandigarh. According to him, the Mechanical branch has good placement statistics. Here are a few highlights of the branch that may be helpful.
Lastly, if you have options to go for better NITs such as Allahabad, Bhopal, Raipur, etc. go for it. Many reputed PSUs visit the campus placements of these NITs and offer Design profiles.
You should go for PEC Chandigarh Mechanical. The institute offers decent placements and career opportunities. The placement rate for Mechanical is around 90%. Companies visiting PEC Chandigarh placements recruit students in both core and non-core profiles. The salary packages offered are in the range of INR 3.6 LPA - 22 LPA.
Also, Production is a niche branch. The career opportunities available in the production field are limited compared to the Mechanical field.
It all depends on your personal preferences and what appeals to you the most. However, if none of these two branches piques your attention, then definitely mechanical engineering in PEC is the way to go.

It would be advised that mechanical is always a better choice than aerospace. You can choose to go for Mechanical engineering without giving it much thought and discussion.
Two years ago, one of my friends was in the same situation. He could have taken electrical and sit for every company’s placements. If he chooses mechanical, then only core opportunities are open. Given the circumstances, he chose electrical in the first round of counseling. It was so because he would at least get a chance to sit in almost every business.
Sitting in a good company does not guarantee a good job, and mechanical engineering at PEC is far superior to that of many NITs and even IITs. Trusting his seniors and teachers, he switched to mechanical on the spot round to which he doesn't regret till now.
If you're interested in electrical, go for it. Since my friend had no particular interest in any of these subjects, he preferred mechanical over electrical.
There are many things to consider while choosing a college such as placements, location, branch, choice, your expectations after 4 years of engineering life, etc.
If you have a liking for a particular branch then go to that college all things considered. Being a student of MNIT myself, I can say that, if you are only concerned about placements then MNIT Jaipur will prove to be a better choice.
The following data comparing the placements at both institutes will hopefully give you better clarity.
