Remarks

The only college in kerala where you can find theatre, bar , beverage outlet , bus stand , chinese restaurants, cafes , salons and spas within 500 metres of range. Kothamangalam is a beautiful place. If you feel bore, then you can take your bike and have trip to munnar (just 70km from collge) or nearby you have bhoothathan kettu dam, thattekad bird sanctuary, and so many hills like ayyapanmudi and all.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

College is affiliated to APJ Abdul kalam university. 4 years have been divided into 8 semesters. End of each sem there will be main semester examinations conducted by university. In every semester, there will be two internal examinations carried out. You need atleast 45% in the final internal result so as to attend the end semester exam in the respective paper.

Placement Experience

3

There’s no intership provided by the college. Regarding placements, the placements in IT software sector is high. Around 95% of computer science engineers got placement in my batch. But core placements for mechanical , electrical and civil is very low. Only 15% got placed in core field in my batch.Major companies are TCS,Infosys,Wipro,Oracle,Cognizant, Iqvia, IBM, l & T , maruti, hyundai constructions, mrf.

College Events

4.5

Events. You cant see much better arts fest in any other college. Sanskriti. Every day of even sem there’s an intra event related to sanskriti.Every evening there would be some arts event and everyone will assemble infront the Open Air Theatre(OAT). The colors of sanskriti will be there all throughout even sem and end by 3 day major programme which include pro show by some eminent artist (Dj smokey girl, lagori band, thaikoodam), Dj night, etc. Sanskriti is way better than any other arts fest I went in colleges of kerala. ( dont account nit ragam, its way to far ahead. iam talking about colleges in kerala only) Then comes tech fest., which is two day program conducted in even sem. The days which we can realize and show up our technical skills to other people. These all events are conducted by students itself. So these kind of programmes help to develop leadership as well as managerial skills in students

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee- literally no fee i would say. tution fee is only 8000 per year.yeah just eight thousand. its government college na. and being a minority religion christian , i had scholarship from central government worth 16K a year. So for me theres no effect of tution fee and moreover its like i get 8K per year.

Fees and Financial Aid

College alumnus offers so many scholarship. One such scholarship is e grant. I dont know exact details of the scholarship. Apart from college scholarship government also provide so many scholarship. I chose moma scholarship which is offered to minority religion students like christians and muslims who take technical education.

Campus Life

5

College was established in 1961. Thats around 60 years on 2021. Its one of the best college in terms of mechanical workshops. Earlier , other department students from model engineering college used to come to our college to do first year mechanical engineering workshops like smithi, Foundry etc. Sports , college has two basket ball court, tennis court, football ground , 400 m ground, shooting range, indoor stadium, swimming pool etc,

Hostel Facilities

5

i stayed in hostel. No hostel for first year students. All the buildings are old. and you can find lot of bedbugs on wooden beds, still your hostel life would be your best moment in your life. 4th year you have single room hostels which is some kind of good building. Hostel food is so cheap and the food to be cooked is chosen by the students themselves. The final mess bill is then divided among students. Everyday noon you can have meal with fish and dinner with chicken or beef.,still cost only 4K a month including your room rent.

Alumni/Alumna

Around 60 chapters of alumni are there. Alumni are the rela power of this college. They give the fund for the events as well as the college programs. mace Alumni Uae chapter consist almost 300 members from past 50 years. All of them assemble once in a year, as part of nostalgia, as well doing some charitable works

Admission

For admission you’ve to crack kerala entrance examination with good rank. Demand of branches change with time. During my admission time mechanical was the most demanding discipline and the last rank was 2000.

Faculty

3.5

Most of the faculties did their pg and phd from IITs and NIT. But as it’s a government college dont expect much teaching or “ spoon feeding” as in other colleges. Faculties wont bother whether you pass the exam or not, they are payed by the government. Still if you wish to ask doubt and all , they’re always willing to help us.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is the worst. Teachers rush through the portions so that they can finish at the earliest. It may be because the university has a unjustifiable timetable. There is very little practicals given. The ones that are given are just for namesake.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is under KTU syllubus do it's fine. There is a change in curriculum coming 2024 which i assume would make a lot of good changes. The curriculum gives you a head start For most of your work, you need to on your own but the faculty is there to help. The frequency of exams is weekly tests + monthly exams. Its not too difficult of an exam.

Placement Experience:

The students usually start appearing for campus placements in their 6th semester. The training for the campus placements is started for all the students from the 4th semester. Many companies visited for campus placements. But one main problem is that most of them were low packages. Around 4LPA. Some were between 4-6 and a very few between 6-10. Most of them got placed in our batch in some company.
