Tolani Maritime Institute

Well the college life is hectic and requires a lot of stamina and will power. You should have a heart to lose sight of the shore and face the strong seas. The routine is tiring waking up at 6 am to sleeping at 11pm.

The semester is 5 months long, having class tests at each week, by this we are constantly studying and our performance tabulated. If failing we are made to complete assignments. There is a university exam at the end of the semester.

The Placements are dependent on the performance of the students, they need to meet a certain level to be able to sit for interviews for various companies. The companies are all from foreign countries, which are well reputed and provide secured jobs and good salaries.

We have many technical and cultural events held at TMI. Transtech is a great place where different colleges meet and display their engineering skills. Horizon is the yearly fest held at TMI, it's a cultural fest basically where the students participate in various activities to showcase their skills.

The fees is kinda high, but it's worth every penny, from the hostels to the labs, each facility is made available to us. There are loans and scholarships available so it can be of some relief to students.

There are many scholarships and facilities for the loan, i really don't have any knowledge about them but the college admin can brief you about the same. Scholarships are given out every semester end to each rank holder of every batch.

The campus has every labs and equipments which are seen on board ships. The sports facilities are well established. We have basketball, football, squash, swimming, badminton, table tennis, lawn tennis, etc.

The hostels are good and the rooms spacious. The food is better than most colleges and affordable. We have a cafeteria and certain other cafes around which also provide delivery services 24/7. The hostels are big housing more than 400 cadets per hostel.

Well my batch was affiliated to a new university so the seniors weren't much of a help but they helped us in shaping us through morning pts, drills, parade practices and etc. And they made this place feel like home.

I had filled two forms, one for Tolani and one for the Indian Maritime University. The exam is held at many venues, i had opted for the college campus itself. The exam starts from mid of may till june which is followed by am interview. Having met a certain criteria for both and giving a personal interview at Tolani, i got thr selection letter.

The faculty is hard working, constantly trying to make us grasp more knowledge in every aspect of our lives. They are our mentors guiding us at each step and preparing us for the interviews and even the sailing.
