Marine Engineering In TMI

The curriculum of our course is up to date with the modern technology and provides enough practical knowledge to prepare us for real world applications. The curriculum of marine engineering in Tolani Maritime Institute is exhaustive and a student must put enough efforts if he/she wants to secure a good placement. The difficulty is moderate and every 1.5 months examinations take place.

Companies like NYK, Stena, BP, MOL, PIL, Synergy, Wallem offer an onboard internship in the last semester of the course. The role is trainee marine engineer and a stipend of around $250/month is provided. After the intership students recieve their degree and join the company as an engine cadet.

Students are eligible for campus placements from the first semester itself. BP,Stena,NYK,MOL,Carnival,PIL,Fleet,Synergy,Chevron,etc. are some of the companies which visit Tolani Maritime Institute regularly for placements. 95% students get placed in the course. I aim to get placed in a good company and pursue my career in this field.

A student of Tolani Maritime Institute will be paying ?5lakhs/year which includes the hostel fees,mess fees and the tution fees. A seperate nominal exam fees is charged before the semester exams. Scholarships are given to the top 40 students according to their score in the semester exams. Seperate Merit cum need scholarships are also available.

Around the whole year a lot of events take place like the Horizon(Fest), Transtech(Technical fest), Industrial Visits, Freshers, NAUTICA, Interhouse events, etc. There are a different variety of books available in our library and pur classrooms are well equipped with smart screens. The classrooms are air conditioned.

The hostel rooms are twin sharing and the food is top notch. There are options for both veg and non veg. The hostels are value for money. Hostel for the whole course tenure is compulsory and students can't rent a room or PG outside the campus

I applied to IMU Kolkata,Mumbai Port campus and Chennai alongwith it I also applied to AMET. I got selected in every college except AMET and I feel that Tolani Maritime Institute provides us with better facilities in every aspects compared to the other colleges I applied for. An entrance exam (TMISAT) followed by a personal interview is necessary to get into the college. Additionaly, clearing IMUCET is must to get into this institute.

The faculty to student ratio is amazing and a student can recieve personal attention if he/she is interested in the subject. Every faculty is well qualified and hold apt knowledge on the subject they teach. There are 3 exams in a semester. Difficulty is moderate and almost every one can clear the exams with sufficient effort.

There was no GD but a PI was taken if the student was able to clear the TMISAT Entrance examination. The Interview was prettt basic and asked general questions alongwith a few basic questions covering the 11th-12th topics.

The nightlife is pretty boring. There are 4 gyms in the campus (3 for boys and 1 for girls), 2 cafes. TMI Lake is a famous hangout spot for the students inside the campus. Apart from that Bhandara Dongar Mandir is nearby, 30 mins trek is required to visit that spot, the railway station is nearby and students can easily reach pune through the local trains.
