Remarks

Being a national college, it has a brand name outside. However being a new NIT, the facilities are yet to be improved and the college is still under construction. Learning will be more only when the student take initiative and nobody forces to study. Food quality is yet to increase.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course is purely based on GATE and IES exams which is quiet good. A semester has 2 cycle tests and 1 semester exam. The mark division for the semester is as follows: 20 marks from each cycle test, 50 marks from semester exam and 10 marks for assignment.

Placement Experience

3

Internship wasn't provided by my College when I was graduating. Placements for my batch wasn't so great compared to my junior batch which got almost 90% placement of the eligible candidates. Many IT companies came for recruitment which average package of 5 lpa and only 2 core companies came for recruitment (L&T and ABB) for my batch. Currently placement seems to have improved. But job opportunities are more even after not getting placed in the college.

College Events

4.5

Every odd semester College hosts a cultural fest and every even semester College hosts a technical fest. These fests are purely managed and organised by students of the institute. Apart from fests, being a national college all the regional festivals like Tamil New year, Ugadi, Onam, Holi, etc. were celebrated in the college.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Being a central government College fees is slightly expensive but comparative to other private colleges. For the present batch the fees varies based on the family income. Many students avail education loans or scholarships for their course.

Fees and Financial Aid

I haven't availed any scholarship. I've applied for education loan and studied under it. For the current batch for the student from economically weak background, there is a concession in the fees than other students.

Campus Life

3

College supports extra curricular activities through fests. Labs are yet to be well established and equipped. College sends all the sport teams for inter NIT tournaments that are conducted across India in various NITs.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Boys hostel has 4 floors with each floor having 43 rooms. Each room is shared by 2 persons. Seperate study table and LAN connections are provided for each and also a WIFI router is provided for each 2 rooms.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network was just formed at 2018. Being an alumni , I feel we're providing full support for our juniors in terms of placements or sponsorship for the fests. Soon a very strong alumni network will be formed.

Admission

The selection is through is marks obtained in JEE mains. Online counselling is conducted by CSAB (JOSAA now) which is the common selection portal for admissions into any NIT. Based on our choice filling seat is allotted in the specified College for specified department.

Faculty

3.5

Faculties are mostly PhD holders from NIT or IIT. Teaching of permanent faculties are much better than those on contract. Faculties aren't so strict like other private colleges so can have a good interaction with them about the subject and are very helpful during projects.

There is no placement history for our course. The main department offering placement in the campus is mba . They have the highest placement history . Also MCA people have placements . Companies like tcs , hdfc bank etc visit. Approximately 50% students get placement. Since there is no placement in our department , I'm planning to take masters.
