Course Curriculum Overview

3

I would rate the course plan about 7 out of 10 in terms of use and depth. I chose this course as it had a mix of core eng sub, lab work and proj based learn which helps build both theory and real skill. The plan has key sub in the first years to build base and more spec sub in later years which helps in job prep or higher study. Lab work, mini proj and main proj also help in real world use of the ideas learnt in class. The course also gives a base for tech roles as well as for exams for higher study. The exam plan has two mid tests and one end sem exam in each sem. The mid tests check day to day learn while the end exam tests full know of the sub. The level of exams is mid to a bit hard but stud who keep up with class and lab work can pass with good marks. In terms of improve, the plan could add more new tech topics, more hands on lab work and more tie up with firms for real proj work. Some teach ways could also use more tech tools and case based learn to make the class more fun and easy to grasp.

Placement Experience

3

The placements in my college are moderate but improving each year. The placement cell conducts aptitude training, coding practice sessions, resume building workshops, and mock interviews to help students prepare for recruitment. Every year several companies visit the campus for placements and offer roles in fields such as software development, core engineering, and technical support. On average, a good number of students from each batch get placed, especially those who maintain good academic performance and technical skills. The average salary package offered is around ?3–5 LPA, while some students receive higher packages depending on their skills and the company. Apart from campus placements, many students also apply for off-campus opportunities, internships, or choose to pursue higher studies such as M.Tech or MBA to improve their career prospects. Overall, the college provides decent placement support and guidance for career development.

Fees and Financial Aid

The BTech course is four years and the total fee is about ?3.8 to ?4 lakh, with a small rise each year due to dev and uni costs. In year one the fee is about ?1,03,000 and it has tuition, admit fee, reg fee, lab fee, dev fee, stud fund, PTA fee and a ?5,000 caut dep which is refund at the end. In year two the fee is near ?89,000 with tuition, uni fee, lab fee and other set costs. In year three the fee is about ?93,000 with the same main parts. In year four the fee is near ?97,000 with small rise in tuition and lab fee. Gen or mgmt quota pay about ?75,000 to ?1,00,000 per year. OBC may pay ?40,000 to ?60,000 per year. SC and ST may get fee cut or full tuition aid and pay only base admin cost. Aid like merit aid, merit need aid, post mat aid for SC ST OBC, and min aid may give ?10,000 to ?75,000 per year if one meets the rules.

Campus Life

3

My overall campus life was quite positive and balanced between academics and social activities. The college provided a good environment for students to interact, collaborate, and build friendships through various events and daily campus interactions. There were several student clubs such as technical clubs, cultural clubs, and sports teams which helped students explore their interests beyond academics. I participated in technical events and college fests which helped improve teamwork, communication, and leadership skills while also making campus life enjoyable. The social atmosphere on campus was friendly and supportive, making it easy for students from different backgrounds to connect and work together. In terms of infrastructure, the college had well-maintained classrooms, laboratories, a central library with a good collection of books and digital resources, and dedicated spaces for seminars and workshops. The campus also had sports facilities, open areas for student gatherings, and basic amenities like Wi-Fi, cafeteria, and study spaces which supported both academic and recreational activities. While some facilities could benefit from modernization and upgrades, overall the infrastructure and campus environment provided a comfortable and productive space for learning and student life.

Admission

I chose my college because it offered a good balance of academics, infrastructure, and placement opportunities compared to some other colleges I applied to. The college had a decent reputation for engineering programs, experienced faculty members, and a structured curriculum with both theory and practical learning. Compared to a few other colleges I considered, my college had better laboratory facilities, active student clubs, and more consistent placement support, which influenced my decision. Some of the other colleges had either higher fees, fewer placement opportunities, or were located farther from my preferred location. The admission process was mainly based on entrance exam scores and counseling, where students selected their preferred college and branch based on rank and seat availability. The process included registration, document verification, counseling rounds, and fee payment to confirm the seat. Although I applied to a few higher ranked colleges, my entrance exam rank was not sufficient to secure a seat in my preferred branch there, so I chose this college as it still provided good academic and career opportunities.

Faculty

3

The faculty in the college are well qualified and most have good know how of their core field. The fac to stud ratio is near 1:15 which helps in good class link and easy doubt clear. Most fac are easy to talk to and help stud with proj work, labs and exam prep. Some of the best fac in the dept were Dr Ravi Kumar, Prof Suresh and Dr Meena as they used clear teach ways, real life ex and gave good guide in proj work. They also gave time to stud out of class hours. A few fac were not liked by some stud as their teach style was more theory based and class talk was less clear, which made some topics hard to grasp. The course plan is well set and has both core and lab based sub that help stud gain tech skill. The plan is in line with uni rules and gives base for both jobs and high study. The exam sys has two mid sem tests and one end sem exam for each sem. Marks are split with near 40% from mid tests, assign and lab work and 60% from the end sem exam. The exams are of mid to high level and most stud who keep up with class and lab work are able to pass. A small set of stud may fail in tough sub but they can clear them in sup exams. The course plan is quite apt for eng study and helps build both theory know how and real use skill.

Night Life

3

Nightlife around the college campus is generally calm and limited since it is mainly an academic environment. Most activities in the evening involve students spending time in hostels, cafeterias, or common areas with friends. Small food stalls, cafes, and tea shops near the campus usually stay open until late evening and are popular spots for students to relax, have discussions, or work on assignments. Occasionally during college fests, cultural events, or technical events, the campus becomes more lively at night with music, performances, and student gatherings. However, compared to big city nightlife, the area around the campus remains quiet and focused on student life and academics.
