Likes
- The timetable of the college is very effective and classes gets cancelled very rarely.
- Canteen is the best thing i like in the college , it offers varoius food items at a very cheap price and very hygienic.
Dislikes
- Classrooms are still old fashioned, it needs to be improved to smart classes .
- Most of the faculty is from south and southwestern region which makes their accent difficult to underst.
- Attendance is also very strict which makes it difficult to focus on extracurricular activities.
Course Curriculum Overview
As a 2nd sem student i found the curriculum very boring and not updated according to present needs . I think it increases the knowledge but doesn't prepare us to tackle real world problems . I choose this course because it is well demanding despite being not updated . There are various improvement needed related to markets and finance . The exams are also conducted frequently without giving room for flexibility.
Internships Opportunities
As being the 2nd sem student i am not much aware of internships but i know there are various internship opportunity offored to us by various companies which student can opt for various roles like finance , equity etc .
Placement Experience
From 5th sem a student gets eligible to get placed . Various companies like ey , delloite , kpmg , bain , goldman sachs come to our college . The avearge package is 600000 and the highest is 1400000 . Last year a total of 143 students got placed from our college . My plan after getting degree is to get a good placement .
Fees and Financial Aid
The course fees of BA economics hons in venky college is around 21k and fees for other courses also lie around 20k per year. The college fees is increasing per year . There are no other extra charges like development fees etc . There are also various scholarships offered by the university.
Campus Life
Venky college is known for its fest known as nexus which is held in the month of feb of march . And also it has a very well equipped library with a lot of books of all genres. The classrooms are equipped with smart boards . Various sports facilities are also offered by our college and also the students excel in university games . Our college also have alot of club known as mac , enactus , ifsa , bluechip etc whi ch students loves the most . The social life offered by our college is amazing and everyone loves it .
Admission
I have applied for north campus colleges of Delhi university which i couldn't attend due to not clearing their cutoff in cuet exam and i got enough to get admission in venky . Venky college is best in south campus and it is also known as srcc of south campus . The eligibility criteria of this college is to clear cuet with a good score depending upon the courses which you can check on various sites and the admission process is simple without physical contact .
Faculty
The student teacher ratio is 65:1 . And the economics faculty is which i liked the most and the maths faculty is very bad due to their rigid nature . There are exams conducted every month (internal exams ) and at last end sems which has a passing percentage of 40% .the exams are easy to crack and one can easily pass .
Night Life
Their is no nightlife in our college as it gets closed by around 6pm . But it has a open gym and good cafeteria area for public gathering and a large ground for hanging out . College timing is from 8 am to 6 pm depending upon the timetable . Our college has various hangout spots outside college like satya niketan etc .
