Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum of commerce at the bachelor's level is not changing as fast as those of science. Though the curriculum could have been better but the current curriculum after NEP is still practically relevant. The timings of the exams are proper as we get approx 4 months of studying before the Semester-end exam begins.
Internships Opportunities
100+ companies offers internships in the college. Major recruiters are E&Y, upGrad, UC, Vedantu etc. Most of these interships are in Finance, IT, Marketing, HRM, Sales etc. The average stipend is Rs 10,000 and the highest stipend is Rs 50,000.
Placement Experience
The students become eligible for campus placement from 6th semester itself. More than 200 companies visit the college and make more than 500+ offers. The highest package is Rs 22 LPA and the average package is Rs 8 LPA. The Median package is also RS 8 LPA. These are one of the highest among the commerce colleges.
Fees and Financial Aid
The yearly fees is Rs 30000 approx including tuition fees, admission fees, development fees and other fees except the DU Exam fees. Multiple scholarships are available for the students offered by multiple Corporate Foundations such as DELL Aspire scholarship program, Reliance Scholarship etc. These scholarship are for students having parental income below a certain amount (mostly Rs 5,00,000 p.a.).
Campus Life
The college hosts multiple festivals across the year, from Freashers' party to the grand Fest of Hansraj College, making the college life a truly fun experience. More than 60+ societies are in the college. Almost all major sports are offered in the college.
Admission
So my target was SRCC. It is most reputed commerce institute in India. But I wasn't able to make to SRCC due to lower score than the cutoff. My second preferance was Hansraj College. My score was within the cutoff marks. Hansraj is almost comparable to SRCC and there is less than 10% difference in the median placements of both the colleges. So I chose Hansraj College.
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio in commerce department is 1:70. The faculty and student relationship are professionally great. There is an year end exam in the semester end. It is moderate in difficulty level. The course curriculum has gone better after the implementation of NEP.
Night Life
The college opening time is 8pm and its closing time is 6 pm. Hostel timings are more flexible. There are multiple hangout places at Kamla Nagar, which is just in front of the college. The locality is generally safe.
