Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is very well designed include many aspects bio chemistry includes subjects like cell biology seperation techniques etc. The msc syllabus aligns closely with our curriculum syllabus which prepares us for he further academic pursuits. An improvement might be to include more MCQ questions in the final paper to prepare for competitive exams. IAs are held a month before semester end exam. IAs are harder than final exams
Internships Opportunities
There is the programme for internships titled SRI-VIPRA. It works to provide both student research internships and minor research grant. The research grant is 30k and duration is 6months. For internships the duration is around 3 months and it may be offline or online or blended
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees is around 25,550. Last year the fees of sri Venkateswara college for the course bsc biochemistry hons and other science courses except botay and zoology was around 23,500. The BA and commerce fees are slightly lower and there is a seperate scholarship cell for those who need it
Campus Life
Manu big and famous societies like enactus, sankalp, faa, etc. societies like effulgence for photography and debsoc are also present. Library is really big with a range of books and multiple copies of the same book. All classes have a working projector and a really big ground for different sports like cricket, football etc. the main fest nexus is really grand and glorious
Admission
I applied may other du colleges like miranda, gargi, aryabhatta etc. I choose Venkateshwara because it was one of the few colleges with biochemistry as a course. The du system does not work with rejection but I did get this course in the college in upgrade round 2. The exam is CUET, we are required pcb combination for this course and same subject is CUET and the cutoff usually at subject rank 400 for the course
Faculty
The faculty is very supportive, teachers are always ready to clear doubts wheather academic or non academic. We have 4 teachers per DSC, 2 for both lab and 2 for theory meaning 4 teachers per DSC. We have IAs a month before the final exam they are slightly difficult than the final exam but the teachers prepare is well for that. There is no fail in IA but there is only retest if you are absent. The course curriculum is very relevant and the teachers make it very intersting to study
Night Life
The timings for library are 9 am to 5pm Mondays to Saturdays for day scholars. Public area timings are from around 8:45 to 6pm. Hostelers are always allowed. Hostel students need to be in campus by before 10 pm . Many hangout places like maggi point, unbound coffee, moms hand momos.
