Course Curriculum Overview

5

The curriculum also lets us opt for a minor degree along with our major degree. The curriculum has added VAC, SEC, etc courses to increase our familiarity with other courses and disciplines as well. This is how we can learn basic coding languages, financial literacy, and focus of personality development. The exams are taken four times in a year and two times in a semester.

Internships Opportunities

4

Every year, our college hosts an internship fest for all college students of every year. Various companies come in campus and online to select students for the summer internships. Along with that, the placement cell keeps informing us of the various internship opportunities they find and conduct sessions.

Placement Experience

4

Students become eligible for campus placements from the 6th semester of college. The companies that have visited DTU are Deloitte, EY, KindLife, etc. The highest package was 13 LPA and the average package is around 6-7 LPA. After doing my four year course, I'll appear for CAT exams and go for further studies.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college fees of my course at dtu is 1.05 lakhs per annum. The fees structure is so that it increases every year by 10 thousand rupees. There is a late fee fine one has to pay if we don't meet the deadlines. There are no specific scholarships provided by the college. But there are a few grant opportunities one might get.

Campus Life

5

My overall experience with the campus life has been pleasant. The sports society keeps organising events and competitions between campus students and I am pretty active in that. We get to play table tennis in our breaks from classes. The economics society conducts Ecolibrium, the entrepreneurship cell conducts startup bazaar.

Admission

This college was in proximity to my residence and it is convenient to reach the college from the nearby public transport networks. I wanted to study from a government college and DTU is a state government college. The admission process of this college is based on CUET scores. There are different cut offs every year based on the percentile of students and there is an in person admission round system.

Faculty

4

The faculty-to-student ratio is 1:18. The faculty-to-student relationship is very transparent and easy to build. The faculties are pretty approachable and there are specific periods for discussing doubts with our professors. There are 2 exams in one semester, i.e. mid semester exams and end semester exams.

Night Life

4

There are several gyms in the 10 minutes radius of the campus, like, Anytime Fitness, PCube Fitness, Timeless Gym which are very well known. There are cutesy bakeries, like Bakebook and cafeteria and co. The whole lane from the college to metro station has a lot of food spots. There are flats and PGs 2 minutes away from the college for students to live. The Leela is the closest hotel.

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.

As a future law student philosophy was one of the options which was good to opt. Secondly, comparatively less people opt it and it can be one of the better choices if you are preparing for upsc and taking it as an optional. Teaching can be made more interactive as the topics are really interesting

Remarks:

Positive : the faculties are good and I could say our college is the meeting place of various cultures ranging from Kerala to jammukashmir Negative: the infrastructure is poor. Labs and libraries are not so good. And there are stray dogs who often steps into classes and make us afraid. College is not fully air conditioned but is on processing.
