Course Curriculum Overview

3

The curriculum is well-structured and practically oriented, connects well with the ongoing trends. However, the numerous assignments and quizzes sometimes overshadow the focus on actual learning. Perhaps the institute could strike a better balance between academics and hands-on experience.

Internships Opportunities

3

There are many companies who visit for internships. Most of them come for tech, circuital branches only. For core branches like mechanical, chemical, civil also get quite a few ,but relatively low internship opportunities.

Placement Experience

4

There are many placements,as well as internship opportunities offered. The placement percentage of the college is 92%.Companies like google, amazon, nvidia, hpcl, bajaj, mahindra and many more visit this college.

Fees and Financial Aid

I pay 1 lakh per year including both hostel and institute fee. There is hardly any increase in fees over my years in college. B.Tech (1st Year) : Institutional Charges Rs. 56,000 Total Annual Fees (Hosteller):Rs. 56,000 Total Annual Fees (Day Scholar):Rs. 39000 B.Tech (2nd, 3rd, 4th Year): Institutional Charges :Rs.51,000 Total annual fees for hosteller:Rs.51,000 Total annual fees for day scholar:Rs.34000 ChargeS: Admission/Registration Fee:Rs. 2,000 Examination Fee:Rs. 2,000 Hostel Room Rent (Non-single seater):Rs. 12,000 Hostel Others charges:Rs. 5,000 Development Charges:Rs. 10,000 Medical and healthcare facility:Rs. 1,000 Alumni Membership Fee:Rs. 1,000 Institute Security (Non-refundable,and only for 1st years):Rs. 5,000 Library Fee:Rs. 2,000 Stationary/Project Fee, etc.:Rs. 3,000 Students Activity fee:Rs. 10,000 International/National Conference Fee:Rs. 1,000 Internet/Computer Fee:Rs. 2,000. There are many scholarship available both on an institution level and at Central govt level.NSP Scholarship has many scholarships schemes for different categories. There are also many private scholarships that students can avail like FFE Scholarship, Reliance Scholarship etc. The fee structures are also available to public on college website.Students can refer for further details.

Campus Life

4

My overall experience was great. The Clubs are very much active all along. The festivals like utkansh and techniti are organised grandly every year. There are wide range of books and journals available in library, that could be helpful for research purposes also.

Hostel Facilities

3

The hostel facilities at our college are decent for first-year students, but they get better as you progress to senior years. The food is good enough,I would say,but not the best. While there are some issues, like lifts not working occasionally, these are usually resolved in a timely manner. There are some rules regarding electrical appliances in the hostel. For instance, electric kettles aren't allowed. However,we are allowed to keep coolers in their rooms during the summer months, provided they handed them over by a specified deadline and paid for the extra electricity usage.

Admission

I was allotted seat here through jee mains as per my rank. So,there wasn't much of a choice for me .I couldn't join other colleges that I wanted join ,simply because of my rank in jee advanced and jee mains. For admission, you just have to clear jee mains with good rank ,and report on the date given to you ,with all the required documents.Every step of the admission will be guided to you through josaa website.

Faculty

3

Maximum of the faculty are approachable. In my experience,There are very few who I felt not approachable. But almost all of them are happy to answer any doubt. We have two examination per semester (mid semester and end semester).I won't say the exams are so easy ,but doable .There are quite a few people who would fail in certain courses also.

Interview Experience

3

The admission to the college is through jee mains exam. So there was no interview or group discussion. The criteria for the admission is based on the general rank ,as well as the category rank. The entire admission process is done through josaa only .

Night Life

3

The students are not allowed inside campus after 10 pm .For girls, they are not allowed outside hostels after 10 pm. Maximum canteens, except Snackers and dominos, are closed at nights. Just wandering around the campus with friends is my favourite thing to do at nights .

The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.
