Course Curriculum Overview

I chose for Economics because for me unlike other subject economics is a reliable course which has a good rate of success in career and also has things to do with real life implications. Everything around us that involves money is economics! From exports and imports to buying sugar from the local shops involves the fundamentals of economics, therefore I think taking economics provides a lead in life because it teaches us how the economic world functions and provides knowledge both mathematically and theoretically which keeps us updated and aware. Unlike other subjects which has limited exams and only allows the students to write specific exams, economics has exams its own exam which provides us employment in the financial sectors and also if a person does not want to opt for it they can also appear other exams which provides them advantage. However, learning is great but learning and implying the learned knowledge makes us know more about the learned topics, therefore I would also like to say that providing students the opportunity to explore and giving them the chance to imply those mathematical equations in real life could be an area the institution could work better on.

Fees and Financial Aid

Till my 4th Sem I was paying ?1500 per month but starting from this semester(5th sem) we have to pay ?1800. For re-admission it's ?10,000, and for renewal it's ?1000, and we apply ST scholarship schemes every year

Our college is reputated in the our state, it provides special occassion like the reputated Spring Fest conducted during the month of March-April. The classrooms are equipped with modern projectors and smart boards. Sports is also an interesting ocassion where all the students participate to win the Championship trophy. The college provides about ~30 clubs and associations, including the reputated clubs like NCC, NSS, College Football and Basketball team etc

Admission

I applied for NIELIT, Kohima and St Joseph's College, Jakhama. I had a keen interest in computers and so I wanted to take a course on computer but since I did not take maths in my higher secondary I could not take B.Sc(Computer Science) major so I applied for Computer Application instead in NIELIT and just incase I didn't get selected I applied for Economics major in St Joseph's. But soon during the time of admission I had a dilemma between choosing Computer Application and Economics. Since CA couldn't provide the education like CS i eventually came to the conclusion on choosing Economics. The admission for my college (St Joseph's College, Jakhama) accepts only the students with first division in their Higher Secondary result. And after which they recruit the students based on first come first basis, since it is a catholic institute they provide better opportunities to catholic students. After approval there is an interview with the Principal or the vice principal, and if they are satisfied we get selected. For students with high marks they directly get selected without any interview

I took up English because i wanted to see change in my self . Personally, i find 3rd sem course boring and old fashioned! I like how English department teachers maintain an active co curriculum activities to make the students engaged in the subject I think it will be great if they encourage explosure learning and observatory learning

Welll !! The course curriculum is quite well and good ! They provide proper application and further information about the course and on how to pursuit the course. Well! The course got to lessen the units for the core papers since it's too lengthy and many a times teachers find difficulty in providing the notes and explanation. If the teachers are finding it difficult it's obvious that we the students faces Total difficulty in preparimg for our exams

Remarks:

Our college has all the infrastructures that a student need for basic learning but not all for a complete standardized exposure linked to our talents. The attendance weight age is quite attentively followed and students may be dropped just because of the attendance. It's quite far from here town so, usually alot of people stay in the hostel, and staying in the hostel seems to be painful since the areas adjoin the college is a highway, and we don't have access to towns and good shops nearby in order to get our need full filled. Apart from my studies I'm also having a good time with my professors.
