Course Curriculum Overview

3

The course I took covers national and internaltional curriculums and is well versed and up-to-date .So far I have learned the wroking the the world economy and how amd why nations maintain economic relaltions. I hope to see more practical works for the students so that we can apply the knowledge we have learnt which will further help us prepare for the future.

Fees and Financial Aid

The year I joined St Josep's College(Autonomous), Jakhama which was 2023 ,I paid a total of Rs 31600 for the academic year 2023-2024 and for the academic year 2024-2025 i paid the same amount which is Rs 31600. The college fee per month Rs 1800 and the admission fee is Rs 10000. For students taking B.sc, they pay Rs 3000 per month as their tution fee and the admission fee is Rs10000. For the academic year 2023-2024 my friend paid 46000 and for the academic year 2024-2025 he paid the same amount which is Rs 46000.The scholarship schemes availaible for students in my college are the ST(Schedule Tribe ) Scholarship Scheme and National Scholarship Portal for Schedule Tribe and Schedule Caste etc. The amounts received from these scholarships are Rs 15300 and rs18000.

Campus Life

4

I enjoy spending time with friends while we roam around appreciaiting the green and lush environment and the flower bloomin trees during the right season .The most prominent and biggest fest is held in the month of April called the Spring fest where many guests ,artists and performers are hired for entertainment and sports such as naga wresting and the strongest Josephite is held . Several Clubs often goes for camping, conduct joint conferences and visits orphanages which improves the overall growth of the students by rendering them to interact with the world and keep them socially active .The college provides sufficient facilities such as labs, library, atms etc . The labs have enough facilities and the library holds sufficient books for the students to use and read.

Admission

I only applied to this college because I wanted to witness the Spring Fest ,which is one of the most famous fest throughout the region of north-east India.I am looking forward to perform during this fest next year for which I am thrilled . For students who scored 70% and above in their HSSLC exams ae given admission without any interviews or entrance exam .For the students that scored below 70 undergoes an interview with the Vice Principal after which a decision is made whether the student will be give admission or not .

Faculty

4

The faculty-to-student ratio is 1:100. The faculties maintain a courteous relationship with the students and are always willing to help us when we need it . The faculties of both Arts and Science are easy to talk to and approach us with the intention to uplift us from our current level of stand.Personally ,I like the faculties of the science departments because they are more friendly .Till now I haven't had a bad experience with any of the faculty members .Per semester there are two exams namely; mid- term exam where we write for 30 marks which is factored by 3 ,so only 10 marks are counted for internal assesment, and seconldy the end-semester exam is written for 70 marks as external marks .So a total of 100 marks is the benchmark put of which 30 marks is alooted for internal assesment and the remaining 70 marks is alotted for 70 marks. The questions are not as difficult but not that easy as well . Yearly about 4-5 students fail

Interview Experience

3

No i didn't face any group discussion ,interview of written test for the admission because the students that score 70% in the hsslc exams were permitted to get a seat without any of the the avove screening .

Night Life

5

When the sun sets ,the students rise their head from naps and do their favorite activities . Some play basketball in the college basketball court while some play football in a turf situated in the local ground and also the gym bros drips sweat in a gym called Zhou gym . There are many popular places to hangout at night such as Elysia where we can sing karaoke or chill and sip a cup of coffe with your loved ones ,or we can stroll around the picturesque fields cultivated by the villagers which is a must to see for all the students of St.Joseph college ,or we can watch the stars that appear closer as compared to the city from the view point of Dzoukou or Viswema . The locality is safe enough for even a child to roam around at night as there are no drunkards or mobs that can cause disturbance and threaten the life of any of the students .

St Joseph's College, Bachelor of Arts [BA] {Hons.} (Economics)

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose for Economics because for me unlike other subject economics is a reliable course which has a good rate of success in career and also has things to do with real life implications. Everything around us that involves money is economics! From exports and imports to buying sugar from the local shops involves the fundamentals of economics, therefore I think taking economics provides a lead in life because it teaches us how the economic world functions and provides knowledge both mathematically and theoretically which keeps us updated and aware. Unlike other subjects which has limited exams and only allows the students to write specific exams, economics has exams its own exam which provides us employment in the financial sectors and also if a person does not want to opt for it they can also appear other exams which provides them advantage. However, learning is great but learning and implying the learned knowledge makes us know more about the learned topics, therefore I would also like to say that providing students the opportunity to explore and giving them the chance to imply those mathematical equations in real life could be an area the institution could work better on.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Welll !! The course curriculum is quite well and good ! They provide proper application and further information about the course and on how to pursuit the course. Well! The course got to lessen the units for the core papers since it's too lengthy and many a times teachers find difficulty in providing the notes and explanation. If the teachers are finding it difficult it's obvious that we the students faces Total difficulty in preparimg for our exams

Remarks:

Our college has all the infrastructures that a student need for basic learning but not all for a complete standardized exposure linked to our talents. The attendance weight age is quite attentively followed and students may be dropped just because of the attendance. It's quite far from here town so, usually alot of people stay in the hostel, and staying in the hostel seems to be painful since the areas adjoin the college is a highway, and we don't have access to towns and good shops nearby in order to get our need full filled. Apart from my studies I'm also having a good time with my professors.
