Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum that influenced my decision to choose this course of artificial intelligence and data science is that it has a strong foundation in both theoretical computer science and practical AI techniques. The curriculum has a good balance between core subjects like data structures, algorithms, operating systems and AI specific domains such as machine learning, deep learning and computer vision. And also the increasing demand for this course also made me take it. teaching methods could be improved, like having more of hands on sessions rather than theory. The timing of exams is fair enough and the difficulty level varies with respect to the subject and faculty.

Placement Experience

4

I am currently in my third year so my placements have not started yet, but the placements do start from ending of third year or starting of fourth year. Around 150 companis vist our campus for placement oppurtunity. The recent highest package cracked was 80 LPA and average package is around 730000. And around 72 percent of students got placed in 2025 batch. Top companis along with small companies visit for placements. The eligibility for students to appear for placement depends on the CGPA cut off made by the respective companies. And my plans after getting a degree is to get placed in a good company with a descent package.

Fees and Financial Aid

For my course of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science in Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Bengaluru campus, my yearly fees is 325000. I also paid an additional 10000 as caution deposit in the first year. Coming to the fee structure of my course, under scholarship category there are three fee slabs. The first slab is for 125000, the second slab is 240000 and the third slab is for 325000. These students under scholarship category join through either AEEE or JEE. And for non-scholarship category the fees is 600000. This was the fee structure when i joined in 2023, but now it has increased to 150000, 275000 and 400000 for the three fee slabs respectively. The non-scholarship fees remains the same.

Campus Life

4

Campus life is good enough, and all students are mostly friendly where as majority are telugu people. And there are many clubs in the campus letting you join through your interest. There are both technical and non technical clubs offering many oppurtunities. So not only academics but other hobbies of students are also fullfiled through these clubs. And our campus has small fests for almost every main festival, maily onam and every year kalakrithi happens for freshers and kalanji is a 3 day fest for all the students which happens yealy once. Apart that there is a multi fest named DASTAN that happended once till now, and again soon in october. Extracurricular activities are also encouraged along with academics. Our library offers almost all kinds of books along with previoys year question papers.

Hostel Facilities

4

I have opted for hostel itself keeping in mind regarding safety. So my hostel provides a four sharing room for all four years, the first year, they itself put your roomates randomly, and from the second year its upto us if we wish to continue or change our roomates. And the hostel when i joined was 108000 but now has increased to 121000. Girls hostel has 2 blocks , 1 block with 18 rooms per floor with 3 floors and another block with 20 rooms per floor with 5 floors. The boys hostel is with 4 blocks which are bigger due to more population. So coming to the food menu, we have 4 meals a day, Breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner. And the food is average. Since its the same menu every week we tend to get bored of eating there and sometimes the taste is not that great. And the facilities provided in each room is 2 buner beds for 4 people, 2 tubelights, 1 small closed balcony, 2 tables and 4 chairs. The room has to cleaned and maintained by us itself. And we have common bathrooms in each floor. There are PG'S available nearby but hostle is more safe. Laundry is also available once a week.

Admission

I applied to PESU in bengaluru, i wanted CSE but got into ECE so i chose AI and DS in Amrita over ECE in PESU. Also fees was lesser in Amrita compared to PESU. I wanted to apply for MIT, bangalore but since the college was very far and the fees was huge i diidnt apply, plus i already got into amrita by then. And since i am from bangalore and didnt want to leave the place i didnt try for colleges outside of bangalore. The admission process for my college is either through the entrance exam conducted by them which is AEEE or through JEE. I got in through JEE since it was better than my AEEE score. with a rank below 3k students might get into slab 1 for any course if they are from bangalore due to local quota.

Faculty

4

Most of the faculty are friendly with the students, except a few strict ones. Our exam systems each semester includes 1 mid term examination and 1 end sem examination, other than that each subject conducts 1 quiz and 1 lab exam before and after the mid term examination, few subjects might have additional assignments. So our end sem is for 30 marks and remaining exam are for 70 marks considered as internals. Quizes ore for 10marks, labs for 15 marks, assignments for 10 marks and mid term for 20 marks. Most of the students clear the exams, but a few fail to do so. The difficulty of the exams is based on which teacher prepares it.

Night Life

3

So i am a hosteller, and my college start of at 8:10AM and ends at 3:40PM. And as a hosteller i can stay in campus till 8 PM, not allowed to be outside after that, so my night life is inside the hostel itself, since i cant go out. While day scholars can stay in campus till 5 PM, but cant stay till 8 PM if permission is taken. So we hostellers have daily outing time to go out and roam every day from 3:30 to 6:30PM. And in weekends we also have morning outing from 10AM to 11:30AM. But if incase we come late from outing our outing gets blocked for around a week. And apart from outing we alos have outpass avalable from whenever time in the morning till 6:30PM to roam the entire day out. And to go home we have home pass for how many ever days needds. And if any locals are hosteller like me, and we want to come from home for a few days we can apply for a day scholar pass. And usually in daily outing due to limited time available, the main road outside campus has a variety of foods available.

Placement Experience:

Placements at RNS Institute of Technology are good. Students become eligible for campus placements from the 6th or 7th semester. Many companies visit the college, including IT and core companies. Some of the common recruiters include TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, and a few core companies for EEE. The average package is around 3 to 5 LPA, and higher packages are also offered for top-performing students. The highest package can go much higher depending on the company. Around 70–80% of students get placed, mainly in IT roles. For EEE students, core placements are limited, but there are good opportunities in software roles. The college also provides training and support for placements. After completing my degree, I plan to get placed in a good company and build my career.

Placement Experience:

I applied to colleges like BMSIT and Sir MVIT, and I had confirmed seats there, too. I chose RNSIT because it has a better reputation for placements in my branch and the campus environment felt more welcoming. I didn't get into RVCE because my KCET rank wasn't high enough for their top branches, as the competition was very tough that year. The admission process is simple. They mainly take students through KCET and COMEDK. You need at least 45% in your 12th boards (PCM). Most students prefer KCET because the fees are lower. Once the seat is allotted through counseling, you just visit the campus, submit your documents, and pay the fees. The whole process was quite smooth and well-organized."

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is very unique, and very new, we are not taught irrelevant subjects and topics like every university does, Polaris school of technology (PST) is a new gen college which mainly focuses on tech, producing the best engineers not amongst india but amongst the world, it's aim is to produce engineers who are better than IITians and MITians, all these specifications influenced me to choose this course/curriculum When it comes to real-world applications, Polaris school of technology(PST) gives us real-life problems and scenario based projects through evaluations which help us in the future and helps us to build a proper approach for problems and train us to be the best. We have two main exams per sem which would be conducted every 3 months that is ½th of the sem, we have a total of 8 sems, so total 16 exams, our exams would be difficult for other college students, but not for us as we have the best mentors.
