Supportive nature of professors. Proper guidance.

Study pressure. I think this is common in almost every colleges.

Course Curriculum Overview

Course structure is quite good. Only need the guidance which course is good of us. Syllabus is quite lengthy. I think theoretical knowledge is good but need of some practical knowledge is required. Laboratory work should be divided so that each students experience the best.

Class Size: 27Course Fees: INR 50000 per year

Internships Opportunities

Many branch get internship outside. But my internship is under my advisor because i need to do something best in my reasearch ( both wer and dry lab ). I am focusing on sensor which is in future utilitised by industries.

Fees and Financial Aid

For Mtech. Biotechnology yearly fee structure - Approx.114000 ( including hostel & mess). If you are GATE qualified student than you will get 12400 per month of stipend. From that stipend you may also pay your addmission fee and other expenses.

Campus Life

College life is good you never get bored in the college. There where many events going on in the campus. Inter college & intra college competitions were also held. Fest, kshitij and so on.... You may join many clubs as well.

Admission

Ofcourse this is one of the top college in which i get admission. I get this college in my 1st round of counseling. So no college reject i have faced. My all india rank in GATE is 506 ( GATE XL) from which i get the college.

Faculty

Faculty were very nice. They help us in reasearch field. They guide us for our future. 2 students are under 1 professor. So ratio of students to professor is quite good. So proper guidance is available. If we talked about exam two exams mid and end which is based on the syllabus provided. Some of the professers were very good at teaching but few of them are not good at teaching not because of their knowledge, they have depth knowledge in their subjects but not make the students concepts clear.

Night Life

Gym facilities, indoor sports, outdoor sports, sports competition. Very important part of hostel life is night canteen, which also delivered the food to hostels. Safe environment. Proper security. Guard bhaiyas is also available.

M.Tech in IIT KGP - What you need to know.

Placement Experience:

The placement scenario in IIT KGP is great if you're a B.Tech student. For M.Tech the placements are good but only in other departments like ME, CSE and CHE. Mostly students pursue research after M.Tech.

Placement Experience:

At the end of 3rd semester, students become eligible for campus placements. 1000 of company visit campus every year in January and December month. Placement takes place in two form one in December and other in January. Like IBM, puma, ICC bank, Deloitte, ABG, Lenovo, etc. highest package is about 2.68 crore per annum, average 15lpa According to different profiles. Students should have more than 8.5 cgpa for good placements. I will join a good company after completing the degree.

Remarks:

Get admission for only getting degree don't expect much. Every 2 years alumni meeting happens in our college you can find some help from old students but don't expect much from this college. After completing no one will provide job.

Clg Review

Since I was interested in getting into an IIT from class 11, and IIT KGP was the only college that gave the best branch to college ratio among all other IITs that I was eligible for based off my rank. The admission process for my college for B.TECH involves JOSAA, a counselling system for all government engineering colleges in India where the eligibility criteria is based off JEE ADVANCED rank. Since you can only select one college through JOSAA, the only one i selected was this as this was the only one I was alotted based off my rank. The cutoff for my college is around 12000 for General Male and 20000 for General Female. This increases for other categories like SC ST OBC etc....Read More

Life at IIT Kharagpur

The other college i applied for was Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani. It was my backup plan in case i could not make it to IIT Kharagpur. I did not chose BITS Pilani as I cracked JEE Advanced with enough marks to get into IIT. The opportunities which we get in IIT is far more than that in BITS, this was my sole reason to pich IIT over BITS. To get admission in any IIT you have to first crack JEE mains to be able to sit in JEE Advanced. Then you have toi crack JEE Advanced and sit in around 7 rounds of counciling to get into any IIT. But once you crack JEE Advanced its just a piece of cake from there on....Read More
