Glimpse of NIT durgapur

This curriculum provide the knowledge which is used in industries our curriculum is not so enough but provide a insight there is two exams in 1 semester there may be some internal exam which depend on faculty

There is lot of good companies come in our campus some of them are microsoft nvidia samsung Wells Fargo oracle pwc Reliance bhel ongc BPCL iocl hpcl ntpc 70% companies come for software role and few companies come for core brach students and other for education or consultantancies

From 7 semester students can participate in campus placement here multinational companies like microsoft, nvidia, samsung,jp morgon,Wells Fargo many companies recruit students highest package is 58 lakh per annum offers by DE shaw and total percentage placement is 78

As I am a sc category students I have to pay 97600 rs per year in which 56200 is other compulsory and 36400 is mess fee and 5000 is hostel caution money fee I don't have to pay tution fee which is 62500 per semester for students whose family income is above 5 lakh per annum have to pay 113600 per semester in which 90600 is course fee and 18200 is mess fee and 5000 is hostel caution money college doesn't provide any scholarship or financial aid you have to apply for either government or private scholarship

Here is mainly two festival first is technical fest aarohan and other is cultural fest recstacy Many books are available related to course but library facilities are not good classroom conditions are good but sports facilities are worst not proper courts and no maintainance of ground here are lot of clubs and societies for every stream

Rooms are good but internet facilities are poor meals are very worst for vegetarian people there is only few options as bengalis prefer non veg before coming into college warden will allot you room after registration process which includes documents submission

I have applied for all top 7 iits but didn't get the branch that I want so I choosed this nit to take admission in this college you have to qualify jee main through that you can take admission to get a seat rank may varies as per category

Faculty to students ratio is 1:40 here most of the faculties are supportive and listen to students but some are worst they just mock students I like our physics faculty s.subhramanyam but don't like shibendu shekher roy who is the professor of mechanical engineering

Here a lot of restrictions on first year students they can't freely walk in campus ( ragging issues) gym conditions is worst,no good cafeteria,small library girls hostel are good but in boys only 1&2 year student hostel is good no hangout place even there is nothing in campus where students can meet
