An Engineering College that taught you much about life!

The management was of the standard level without much interference on the curriculum and educational concerns. The companies that were brought in for recruitment were commendable.

From surprise tests to monthly internals and a final semester every 6 months over the 4-year course, kept us at bay every now and then to be prepared for at least what is the topic that is being covered in class or being discussed or explained in labs. That definitely got us a hang of keeping up with work and responsibilities to a great extent.

Software bigshots across the country in the form of Cognizant, Wipro and multiple other options are available for students to try their luck on. I have personally trained under a project for Rail Vikas Nigam Limited for my internship.

Football & Cricket tournaments amongst several colleges to music concerts with leading popstars and bands from all over the country were a common phenomenon that took place at FIEM. We as a group went on to IIT KGP Spring Fest and were the winners of All India Drama Competition across all 3 categories - solo, duet, and group.

A total amount of 3,35,000 was the cost of the course at FIEM. First Year - 83,750 (without hostel fees, as I commuted from home) A similar amount had to be paid for the rest 3 years and the payment had to be done at the start of every odd semester each year.

I did not avail of any educational loan. My graduation was financially taken up by my parents. Neither did I have any scholarship to finance the course.

The campus life, extra-curricular activities and inter-college competitions were the USPs of FIEM that might be misunderstood by many to not even tip this as an engineering college. But the balance in both, support from faculties and the encouragement from the rest of buddies - is something, everybody will cherish once he/she is at FIEM.

Some of the best senior buddies that one can imagine from college life, we are lucky enough to be in touch with hem till date for any suggestion or help that is needed as was the same during our college days.

After acquiring a rank in WBJEE that fell under the window of eligible candidates in the college, I went through the process of stream-selection (ECE, is what I chose), we were briefed about our respective departments, faculty and an overall brief of the college, it's functioning, and events that are organized over the course of 2 days.

Some of the most genuine guardians that we all came across in lives with thorough knowledge of their expertise and clearer thoughts on situations or complexities that might crop up in a student's life. With authoritative command and affection, both at the same time, there was a cordial yet respectful equation that was mutually conducted.
