What Students Say
Likes
- the curriculum strikes a good balance between theory and hands on coding. Projects aare a regualr part of learning
Dislikes
- the girls to boys ratio is roughly about 1:8, which makes the campus feel somewhat imbalanced
- While the campus has everything you need, its very small. if u want a traditional large environment college, this maybe a letdown
Course Curriculum Overview
the curriculum is prepared for us, it does not feel like we are ready yet (im in first year) we need need a tad more time and depth in areas like DSA for interviews. the exam frequency is high, timings feel rushed into, specially with how difficult the exam is. more exams are application and concept-based, they are designed to test your 100% knowledge of the subject being taught.
Internships Opportunities
many students from our batch have secured paid internships (96.8%) with most of them with startups. notable ones being swiggy, zomato, udaan, allen, motion etc. SDE intern developer or dev interns were the roles offered in most cases. interns work on concrete project delivering real projects
Fees and Financial Aid
the total course fee for the 2024-2028 is approximately 23,00,000 rupees, which is includes both hostel and tution fee. the fee is not uniformly structured i.e it changes as per the year like I paid 4 lakhs in the first year while I will be paying 6 lakhs for the second year. A refundable deposit of 10,000 rupees will be charged for the hostel acccomodation.
Campus Life
Campus life at SST is steadily growing. The main annual fest, Yuganteer was delayed for a year but is expected to happen soon. The library is limited and mostly offering a small collection of self-help books or technical books. Classrooms are well-equipped with projectors, AC and good seating, making the learning comfortable. While the campus is small, it doesn't offer many in-house sports facilities
Hostel Facilities
The hostel at SST offers double and triple sharing rooms each equipped with a cupboard, fan, chair and a common table with a shared bathroom. Food follows a fixed menu, quality is bad or average (as per the vendor), many prefer opting-out and ordering or cooking for their own taste even though its a tad more costlier. Hostel registration is included in the admission and charges are a part of the total course fee. Hostel is located in Electronic City and was managed by Stanza living (Uniworld now) and makes overall living manageable.
Admission
I applied to most of the major JEE colleges lik RVCE, PES and others. I did recieve offers from a few of them but I chose SST I wasn't able to get into IITs or NITs which require better JEE scores and that's something I failed at. So while I got into a decent college, SST felt like a better choice SST has its own admission called NSET, you are allowed 3 attempts and after clearing the tesst there will be 2 rounds of interviews. I failed in the first two rounds of NSET by a marginal of 2-3% but I finally cleared it, followed by both interviews and maybe an additional ones if u have some tech achievedments. This process is competitive but fair. there's a 1000 rupee application fee but u can use the referral code YASHA768 to get a 50% discount. Entrances like JEE or BITSAT is not applicable for the admission but is considered for scholarship. There is a eligibility criteria included for 60% in math for class 12 and being under 20 years at the time of application. The process took about a month from the application to the final admission.
Faculty
there are around 440 students in our batch, the faculty are very approachable and helpful outside class hours. One of the best parts of the teaching experience is the mentorship mode, faculty and senior stdents (buddies) play a significant role in academic support. Some of the standout faculty members include Kshitij, Mrinal Bhattacharge, Pulkit Aneja and Priyanshi Sirohi.
Night Life
nightlife in SST is fairly relaxed and student-friendly. While hostel entry closes at 10,30pm students usually unwind by chilling in common areas, grabbing late-night snacks or heading out to popular spots nearby.
