Course Curriculum Overview

4

The aspects that influenced my decision were 1. interdisciplinary: broad aspect 2. Topics like molecular Biology and Genetics aligned with my interests. The curriculum gives a strong foundation for higher studies and internships for real-world jobs. Suggestions would be: more industry-relevant content would be really helpful, and exposure to real-life jobs. Exams: Internal assessment is held once a semester University exams are held twice a year Difficulty level is moderate.

Internships Opportunities

4

1. SRIVIPRA: Summer internship offered by the college itself. in this, you can be part of various research projects of your liking. 2. South Campus- mail professors of South Campus for an internship in advance, they offer you good positions for learning. 3. The college reputation is quite high, so private firms and companies do give you internships when you apply.

Placement Experience

3

There are College placements through the placement fair. Last semester, students of any course became eligible. 1. Consulting/ed-tech firms/finance companies come to this fair: like- Wipro, TCS, Accenture, Byjus, TFI, Genpact, Deloitte, Chegg Technology, etc. Placement: High Package- 6- 8lpa (Rare) Average Package: 3-4 LPA Future plans for Biochemistry : Higher studies or research.

Campus Life

5

SVC: academics, culture and community Annual Fest: Nexus (Best one out there) Technical Fests: All societies have their fests, and all departments have their fests. Library: Well-stocked and open on all working days. Classroom: Good infrastructure and the latest technologies for labs are available. Projectors and smart classes are there. Sports: one of the best college grounds for cricket, football and athletics. The annual sports fest is also there. There are ample amounts of societies and clubs to join according to one's interests. The societies mentioned above are all student-run, and give a wide range of skillsets to the students who join them.

Admission

Colleges I applied to: 1. Sri Venkateswara College(Admitted) 2. Gargi College (in molecular Biology, I was admitted but cancelled my admission from there) 3. Hansraj College (Admitted in life sciences but wanted an honours subject to study specifics, hence Venky!) I did not get rejected from a college, but yes, from medical school because that was what I was applying for before, but NEET scores got me there! I chose Sri Venkateswara College because: 1. The best biochemistry department in the country. 2. The Academic Environment here is really good because of faculty support, active societies and exposure. 3. The course is research-focused and highly competent. Admission Process: Exam: CUET-UG Eligibility criteria: Class 12 with Biology+ chemistry, physics and English as compulsory subjects. 55% aggregate percentage CUET- subject combination: Biology, chemistry and English. Higher weightage is given to Science subjects in CUET based on percentile merit. Cut-off: For the general for the 1st list, more than 98percentile is needed. lower for reserved categories Admission process: completely online through the DU-CSAS portal. after the result preferences are given and colleges are allocated.

Faculty

4

Faculty Insight: ratio is 1:15, allowing close academic attention. professors are highly approachable and friendly. Actually, about the Liking Faculty, the staff of the biochemistry department is highly competitive, and they are all best in their ways, so selecting one would be difficult. Semesters: 6 semesters over 3 years of course Subjects Covered: Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Enzymology, Human Physiology, Immunology, Genetics, Biostatistics, etc. Includes Core papers, DSE(discipline-specific elective), SEC(Skill enhancement course), and practicals. Marks: Internal semster: 25% End-semester exams: 75% Difficulty level: Moderate to High Pass percentage: more than 90%. Failures are very rare. Curriculum Relevance: Very much relevant to Research, lacks a bit of Industry exposure.

Interview Experience

4

At the time, I took admission, document verification step happened. After that, we were asked to pay fees and admission as done. Today, the admission process is the CUET-UG exam. The percentile is declared. you fill out preferences for colleges. Document verification is done. Admission is done.

Night Life

4

Rock-Garden: Best place to hang in svc Canteen: Food 10/10, ambience 100 aura points for that. Hostel: close by, easy access Famous hangout spot: Satya Niketan- best one out there. safe to roam around here.

Highest package of Hindu College is 36.5 LPA and the average package is 11.4 LPA. Hindu College has a high placement rate of 95% of eligible students securing a placement here. My plan is to prepare for UPSC or SSC-CGL after my degree.
