Likes

College is located in middle of Chengannur town so everything is easily accessible
Bus stand and railway station are in walking distance from the college
Good classrooms and faculty. Good infrastructure

Dislikes

The campus areas is very small and not very spacious
The playground is very small and unable to play football
Gym and grounds are not maintained and full of stray dogs

Course Curriculum Overview

The curriculum is under APJ Abdul Kalam technological University (KTU). The new updated syllabus is better as they removed many unwanted chapters and added relevant topics and materials to make you ready for the future.

Class Size: 63Course Fees: INR 75000 per year

Internships Opportunities

Internship opportunities are limited. Mainly recruiting companies are TCS , WIPRO etc . They have low stipend too. I prefer to do interships outside by finding them myself. Intership opportunity here is not very good

Placement Experience

My college offers good placement opportunities. Average placement is about 3.5lpa. Mainly the company recruiting is TCS. They also offer intership opportunity with stipends. Mainly the placement is for IT companies.

Fees and Financial Aid

For me tuition fees is 75000 per year. I am in management seat for students in merit seat fees is 45000 per year. Merit seat and management seat is purely based on KEAM entrance ranks. If you get a decent rank in keam you can easily get lower merit fee

Campus Life

Overall the campus life is limited due to poor management. The library is good. There is arts and sports fest every year which is good. Other than that there are no good festivals . The arts festival here is good.

Admission

The admission process was purely based on KEAM rankings I applied to other colleges but didn't get due to my low rank so I ended up in this college.You can easily get admission in this college of you have a decent KEAM rank

Faculty

The faculties are okay they have good knowledge in the subject but some of them is not good at teaching you. The physics and chemistry faculties are very good and you can easily learn them and provides good notes.

Interview Experience

There is no interview for admission. Admission is solely based on your KEAM rank. If you have a decent rank you can easily get any of the branches in merit or management seat. It is not difficult get admission in this college

Night Life

Nightlife is poor . All the shops close by 9 pm and there are no good restaurants nearby. For good nightlife you have to go to other nearby places by bus or train there is no nightlife here in Chengannur

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for placement from the 7th semester and internship from 3rd semester. You can apply for internship on your own right from first semester but college gives aid from 3rd semester. The major recruiter is ISRO which offers 40-45 jobs for aerospace engineering. Also other companies like CDac Airbus Boeing and DRDO and HAL visit for recruitment. Nearly 85-90% students get placed while some opt for Higher education and research too. My primary goal is to get into ISRO also I will be preparing for gate examination to complete my IIT dream.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I was never interested in engineering. I passed KEAM entrance exam. So my parents forced me to become an engineer. Since I was interested, I thought food technology might be a good branch in engineering. So I got admission in KUFOS through allotment. The course is actually good . In the 1st year, you study basic engineering, 2nd year onwards food related courses are taught. If you are a student who only have the intention to study you will find this college easy to adjust. They provide all facilities to study. There is no particular frequency for a semester. Even though academic calender is there for each batch it is not followed properly. In this college the course may last upto 4.5 years. Due to this reason the students ask the management to cut shot semester breaks so that they won't loose 1 year.

Remarks:

I only have postive thoughts about that campus. The campus helped me to remove my pre-occupations, inhibitions, fear etc. It gave a lot of memorable moments, large number of friends. The most special thing about the college is those memorable friendships with the faculties whos understand students very well.

I first applied for most of the government engineering colleges. Then my next priority was to get into a best college other than the government ones.
