Course Curriculum Overview

4

The Civil Engineering curriculum at DTU is designed to provide a strong theoretical foundation while preparing students for real-world applications in the field. The program is generally comprehensive, covering both core engineering principles and specialized subjects in the later years.

Fees and Financial Aid

The year wise fees I paid was Rs 2,36,700 which includes tution fees, registration fees, lab fees, admission fees, caution fees, development fees. The fee structure is same for general category as well. Radher than this amount, I also paid Rs 72,000 for hostel facilities and 33,000 for mess facilities.

Campus Life

4

Well, talking about campus life, there has been many things I did like the fun with friends in the fest organized. They organized INVICTUS'25 (The technical fest) and E-SUMMIT'25(E-cell fest) and the cultural fest known as Engifest'25 has been postponed. There is a vast range of books available in library. And there comes our Sports Event( Aahvan) to be organised soon this year which includes all the games ,be it indoor or outdoor. There are many societies in our college such as dance society, singing society, cultural council, entrepreneurship society, drama society, debate society, design society and so on.

Hostel Facilities

4

Since I have got the best hostel among the options I had, so yeah the hostel facilities are amazing. I mean which hostel has a pantry which includes induction and oven, washing area which includes washing machines as well, then a refrigerator and an activity area which have speakers, gym equipments , pool table , TT table, T.V. also and then there is a reading room as well to study. The meal quality is not as good, sometimes its not eatable though. Registration process was easy as the student only have to fill up the required formal details.

Admission

DTU is considered one of the top engineering institutions in India, and students usually apply to it due to several key reasons: Reputation & Brand Value: DTU is known for its strong academic reputation, robust alumni network, and excellent placement records. Many students are drawn to its name value in the engineering industry. Industry Connections: The university's strong ties with the industry allow students to benefit from internships, projects, and job placements with top companies in India and internationally. Infrastructure and Facilities: DTU offers modern facilities, including state-of-the-art labs, libraries, and sports complexes, which make it appealing for students looking for a comprehensive campus experience. Well, I did tried for other colleges and filled Jossa councelling. I got some Nits which was very far away from my house and the branch I was offered was also not of my interest. My Jee rank was 61k and I came to DTU in its special spot round in which they give the remaining seats to the students who participates in it.

Faculty

3

Faculty-Student Relationship: In general, faculties are approachable. Many students report that professors are open to queries during office hours or after class, but availability can vary depending on the course load and the specific faculty. In larger lectures, the relationship tends to be more formal, but in smaller classes, you might get more personal attention Exams: Typically, the semester system includes mid-term exams, end-term exams, and sometimes quizzes or assignments. These exams are generally comprehensive, focusing on both theoretical understanding and application

Night Life

4

There are many things available at night as well but before 11 pm. There is a separate gym for girls and boys. Since the campus gets closed at 9 in the night,so girls get their delicious food from PB or Raj Soin or the canteen which we have at our VLB hostel. The hostel timings for girls are upto 11pm only. They are many places to explore outside the college that is the Adventurous Island or the Metro Walk,The trampoline park ,the unity one mall and DTU cafe. Honestly saying, I have no idea about the safety because I have not been out around late in the night.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is well structured and industry oriented syllabus. This course includes theoretical as well as practical knowledge. Laboratory work ,internship based projects influences me to take admission at this course. The timing of exam is good and moderate. The course should give more focus on technical knowledge also which may help the students to gain more knowledge.

The placements of my college are really okayish. There has been a stark fall in the standards of our college placements. Every year, lesser and lesser companies are coming to offer placements. Moreover, the placement cell tries to exploit the desparation of the students.

Placement Experience:

DTU is very well known for its placements and internships. Companies like Amazon, Microsoft, Atlassian visit it several year with high CTCs. Students are eligible for oncampus interns from 3rd year onwards. The pfficial stats arent out so the total number of companies isnt sure. The highest last year was 85lpa offered by Atlassian while companies like Google offered 65lpa. They mostly recruited for SDE1 and the percentage is very fluctuating as it depends on the branch. Tech branches have really good numbers like 75-85% while for core engineering branches it is about 60%. I plan to work and gain some experience as SDE in a reputed company then MBA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is a lot outdated, in the first semester you learn things which do not even have practical applications in today's real world but that is very much the same for all colleges but i did see some interesting courses for ournext semesters and some of the professors go out of their way to teach you interesting things so that's good. I believe the curriculum should be revised as soon as possible.
