Entrance Preview

SLIET Entrance exam, All India Rank 85,Score 34.5, This college was a dream for me, they conduct their own entrance exam and yup i cracked it.

My courses curriculum is very amazing. We have 5 Theory sujects and 4 labs.

Internships Opportunities

Many Renowned company come here, Recently TCS came, and manyof my friends got placed. And again Godrej came and one of my friendgot placed. Actually i dont know about the stipend for internship.

Placement Experience

Companies came TCS ( Rs.3.22 lakh per annum), Godrej ( Rs.5.4 lakh per annum), Nestle ( Rs.2.3 lakh per annum), Reliance Foods ( Rs.1.5 lakh per annum) etc.

College Events

Our college celebrate different events, like Madhuram, Independenceday, Republic day. And other technical events. Science day is alsocelebrated here. Few days ago National Conference was there in ourfood block.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It's a Central Govt. College. The fee structure is feasible. For us i.e B.Estudents it is Rs.19925 per semester ( For 3 years degree students) ,Rs.26000 per semester (For 4 years degree students). And for M.tech itis Rs,18000.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes there are scholarship like the Tution fee weiver, that are provided to our students who score got marks on entrance examination. By this scheme their fee structure for study will get decreased to half.

Campus Life

Our campus life is very active. We oftenly organise debates , gds and other extracurricular activities, to enhance better development. Male present is about 60% and females 40%.

Hostel Facilities

The hostel facilities are very good . We are equipped with all time wifi.The sanitary conditions are good. And our campus is very healthybecause of green trees and plants.But the mess food is not good. Sometimes the food is very tasty andsometimes it is u

We have a good understanding with our seniors. We are still in touch with them through social media and other ways. Our seniors got placed in high Multi national companies.

Exam Structure

NO, the theory exams and the labs are not very frequent. We love itbecause after 2 months of the session we face an minor exam of 15 marks then again after 1 month we give another minor and then weprepare for majors which is for 50 marks . other 20 marks

The infrastructure is great with state of the art labs and equipment
The library is really nice place to study
Lots of hangout spots in and around campus

Less opportunities for core branches as less core companies visit campus

Very high fees compared to other colleges

Placement Experience:

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

There are 1 AC Lecture complex()LT with almost a seating capacity of 100-120 students, with smart screens and projector.
NITJ has well maintained 4 Girls hostel and 4-5 boys hostels with proper cleanliness and hostel staff.
They are 7 cafeterias in the Campus, including 3 Nescafe outlets,1 dominos and 3 regular canteens that serve food late night.

Dislikes

Wifi and connection issues in the hostels
Slow response to emails and late approval to applications
The ICE department faculty is quite strict. Tough grading system and administration.

Placement Experience:

NITJ has a placement cell, also known as the Centre of Training and Placements(TPO office of NITJ). The placement scenes differ depending on the courses offered. The average placements are 12-14LPA in the Computer Science branch. Every year, hundreds of companies, including Pvt and govt both. PSUs like HPCL and BPCL recruit students based on merit and academic excellence.

I like the most about the college the placement criteria and the way built your confidence
Also the hostel is very good and provide food 4 times
The campus explorer is also very nice according to me

Dislikes

Faculty is not soo well had a lit bit inconvenience
Hostel mess food is not good at some time
Placement is decent and average as like other collage

I like my couse btech with computer science because it has high change to geeting high paying jobs and to build a successful career with my opinion they can improve their faculty with higher education qualification

Gym is provided but only for name, no fame , always full

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

I like the machines that's why I choose the mechanical branch in engineering line. Noida , Gurgoan , Chandigarh , Bengluru and many other areas for improvements in the course curriculum and teaching methods.

Good infrastructure, campus and faculty. Have to improve placements and industrial visits.

Likes

The campus is very green and clean. Infrastructure is good and one can feel fresh air here in campus
The faculty is excellent, almost all of the professors and assistant professors have a degree from renowned institutes. So they know their subject and field very well.
Hostels are good and affordable. Although the hostels itself are old, services are good and you get a nice room for the price/rent

Dislikes

The crowd isn't good. Always demotivated to do anything productive regarding studies. Some people are just here for time-pass
Very less site and outdoor visits. For practical experience, they should conduct industrial visits, but that happens rarely
Placements are really Dry and there is decline in company visits for placement.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

I also applied for tejpur university and also got admission but I didn't get this college because of there location and infrastructure. Yes I got a rejection from nit college because my rank was not upto for getting this college. As I scored a decent percentile in the jee mains exam.So, I've some chances to get in the lower nits and lower branch but like Nit Rourkela, Manipur etc.But I wants to pursue my career in the computer science so I've to choose that one college where I got CS branch. It is a CFTI having some decent placements score and one of the main point is the fee of the college is some low from the other colleges. Not at all I got the other colleges but not the CS branch that's why I didn't choose that colleges over this.
