Course Curriculum Overview
The ability to get a good well paying job is the reason I chose to study btech computer science engineering. They should exclude all topics which have no direct impact on the cs course like chemistry and physics.
Internships Opportunities
As I am still in the first year we have not talked a lot about internship opportunities. The college invites many companies based in multiple fields for internships. They provide training and are ready to accept many students as full time employees.
Placement Experience
Semester 6 onwards students are eligible for campus placements. Most good tech companies provide placements. Some of the companies are google , microsoft, l&t, marico, wipro, amazon, infosys, tata consultancy services.
Fees and Financial Aid
I had used the nri quota available for students whose parents work abroad. The fees in nri quota is higher than that in merit and management quota. I have to pay 80000 tuition fee per year, 2000 hostel fee per month and 400 canteen fees per month.
Campus Life
The college campus conducts an annual tech festival every january over the course of 5 days. Other than this there not many other programs conducted. Festivals like christmad and onam are also celebrated here by the students.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel provides a bed and a few shelves. The hostel is located on college campus. The food at the mess is good . They provide breakfast , lunch, dinner and an afternoon snack every single day. The registration process is easy for both.
Admission
I had applied to Rajagiri college and tkm as well. Both colleges ask for a higher fee than scms hence my admission here. I had written the keam kerala entrance exam. There I was accepted to viswajyothi and toc h colleges. But scms has better ranking
Faculty
There are about 70:1 faculty student ratio. Vidya miss who teaches chemistry and Suraj sir who teaches mechanics are both good teachers Most other teachers consider themselves above the students and provide little to no help.
Interview Experience
No group discussion occured. There was an interview with the college principal. This was more of a formality as the admission had already been confirmed. No test was also conducted by the college beforehand.
Night Life
Even though the college has an air conditioned gym and library these are not open past 6 pm. The hostel is very strict. You must leave for college by 8:30 am and reach by 7:30 pm. Since the college is in a village there is no night life.
