Course Curriculum Overview

5

I don't really like the department of my course or the members because the way they were selected or elected is completely not fair and they barely let us know what's happening there. This makes it hard for us in participating is any curriculum conducted in the department, I fear we're not really included in any parts. Correct me if I'm wrong, so our class timings is 10 am but we get called at 8 every day morning for the classes and are called afternoon batch, it really doesn't make sense.

Internships Opportunities

3

The Placement Office organizes the internship season. Students can apply for full-time internships during the summer vacation. Students can apply for part-time internships after college hours and on weekends. But there's very few scope for my course in the campus. The college hosts an annual career fair called VANTAGE. The career fair connects students with potential employers. The career fair offers workshops and career guidance

Placement Experience

5

The placement in our campus is really good, so good. They notify us about every other opportunities for internships, selection taking place for the members of the placement cell. They conduct a lot of job fairs in our campus.

Fees and Financial Aid

During 1st year, it was 95k and now in 2nd year, they increased a little for my course upto 1,20,000. About the tuition, lab or other compulsory fees, we were not informed how it's divided from the total amount. Compared to other course fees, ours was the highest considering my subject course comes under science. I come under scheduled caste, so try applying every year for scholarships where we get very few days deadline to fill. There's a general scholarship available for every student who scores above a certain percentage in MCC.

Campus Life

4

At Mount Carmel College, campus life is characterized by a vibrant social scene, a strong emphasis on student-led clubs and associations, and a well-maintained infrastructure that supports a diverse range of activities, fostering a strong sense of community among students; with many opportunities to participate in cultural events, sports, and academic clubs, allowing for holistic development beyond academics.

Admission

Self-reflect and objectivity the factors that influenced my decision making. The desire for close friendships, frequent outings, and academic success while maintaining a carefree attitude were common aspirations. The oft-heard advice from elders to “study hard during your school days and enjoy college life” echoed in my ears but that's not true as we know:') I didn't get to go through a rejection as I was selected right after i applied in MCC so I couldn't actually get reject their offer. About the admission process, we were asked to pay the first year's whole fees the same day as walk in interview, I feel they could have given some time generally.

Faculty

3

We have 2 CIAs, 1 lab cia and an end sem exam. The 1st cia is a writing exam for 30 marks gets reduced to 10, whereas the 2nd cia is for another 30 marks mcqs questions and is also reduced to 10 marks. The faculties are good, according to me, but I hope they stop using projectors, ppt and instead explain to us theoretically using a board where only few teachers do. I really wish some teachers would stop being partial too their favorites so others won't feel neglected. I might be wrong but a lot of times I've noticed this happening and I feel sad that i cant do anything to stop this thing. I seriously have no favourites or least favourite teacher. I just don't bother crossing that student- teacher relationship by asking them personal questions which I've noticed few students doing.

Night Life

4

I love the whole campus surrounding especially the basket ball court are and the open stationary, the reading launge. We get to step out of the campus anything during break and only entering with our id card. I like the outer parts of the college too. The night life of college during fest time is really amazing and so fascinating, I live for the memories.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements from the 7th sem. The highest on campus package this year was around 64 LPA, while as far as I know, the top 20% of the students usually get offers in the 16-24LPA range. The overall placement rate is good, but results depend a lot on your skills and practice

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose electronics and communications wholeheartedly. Since my childhood, I was very interested in electronics and very humble in learning new topics in digital electronics. I was never a coding guy, so I took electronics and communications as my course. It was an easy choice for me. So class's average strength is around 65 to 70. And the faculty: student ratio is quite good. The teachers are well qualified and most of them are doctorate holders. The timetable is arranged in a manner such that there is smooth conduction of classes for all-year students. The exams are semester wise and there will be internals every month. Questions are better, you have to know little bit contents taught in classes and also from textbooks. It is easy to pass.
