Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course gives a wide range of scope for future stability in ones life. Civil Engineering is a course which is very necessary in development of the world hence opens up to the wide range of jobs and employment. The practical knowledge of the course makes me equally strong and tough to meet the need of a good engineer.

Internships Opportunities

4

Three compulsory summer internship programme available in this course of 4years. They are- 1. Social Internship. 2. Academic Internship. 3. Industrial Internship. There are two project opportunities available for students .

Placement Experience

3

Students become eligible for campus placement from 3rd year itself. There are various PSU sector industries such as NRL , Oil India Ltd. , ONGC etc and many other companies such as Capgemini, Cognigent, TCS etc visit our college every year and offers approx 15 vaccancies in every branch of engineering.

Fees and Financial Aid

He we pay our fees on the basis of semester. i.e , 3500- 4500 per semester. After you get into college, no reservation quota will be applied except for scholarship. The college doesn't provide any kind of scholarship of its own. If you opt. for hostel then you need to pay an amount of 3500/- per year in the form of hostel fees. The mess dues for every hostel varies every month between 2500- 3000 per month. Through this college students can apply for different scholarship under National Scholarship Portal and also under various other schemes. The college provides with three compulsory summer internship programme facility in the bachelors course, namely Social Internship ( 2nd year), Academic Internship(3rd year) and Industrial Internship(4th year).

Campus Life

5

There are many fests conducted in the campus mainly PHOENIX. This fest is conducted in the month of Feb- March. It is a techno cultural fest and is one of the biggest event with a gathering of approx 6000 people in 3 days. There are a good range of books available in the library. There is a new library complex and a indoor stadium which is under construction. Good sports facility with good numbers of field are available. The overall campus life of every students are good in an average.

Hostel Facilities

4

4 person room in every hostel. The quality of meal varies hostel to hostel since the hostels are run by students themselves. During the admission into the college, the students are allowed to opt. for taking hostel. The rented house in the locality are available in good nos. and are very affordable.

Admission

Earlier to this college, I applied for Debraj Roy College, Golaghat and got admitted in the college for Bachelors degree in Mathematics but due to better scope of employment and since the B.Tech course if mostly of application basis, hence I found it much more preferrable over a bachelor of science degree.

Faculty

4

The faculty to student ratio is quite good. The faculty student relationship are quite friendly and productive but varies with every faculty. The faculties actively participates in every problem raised by students. There are 4nos of exams in a semester, they are 3 Internal exams and 1 Final exam in every semester.

Night Life

3

There are no cafeterias in the campus that operates in the night time. The gym facility is available in the campus with good amount of necessary tools. The hostel timing for boys hostel is 8pm and 6.30 pm for girls hostel. The locality in and outside is campus is comparatively good.

Placement Experience:

From 5th sem students are allowed to participate in oncampus summar internship and from. 7th semester starting they are allowed for 6 month internship and Full time roles . There is a Training and placement Cell in our college there are some heads of this cell they are senior professors and it have final year students in senior coordinator position and 3 rd year study as probationary. Students bring the companies which fulfills the criteria of TNP cell and each company have their own eligibility criteria and selection procedure. Mostly companies allows 6 cgpa without any active backlog students . But some high paying companies requires 7 or more cgpa . In 3rd year Cisco , microsoft, public sapiens, Tech Mahindra, Accenture ,Oracle and many more companies visited in our campus and hired good amounts of students for summer internship and mostly offers full time role as ppo to students. In 4th year a lots of company like Novartis, amazon, flipkart, aditya birla, Cisco , Deloitte, oracle, ukg, Motorola, siemens , IBM and many more startups visited college and hired .Some paid 15+ CTC and some 6 to 10 CTC . Almost 40% of students are placed till December this year from each branch . Personally I'm planning for taking chances to get an online internship and then try to go for higher studies abroad in automation and robotics.

If I don't get job then I will try from off campus or giving paper for government job

The placements here are actually decent. The average package for my branch was around 13.5 LPA last year and branches like CSE, EC and EI have a higher average package generally. The campus is visited by almost all of the top companies including Google, Adobe, Facebook, etc. The detailed placement records are available on the website of the institute. The percentage of students getting placed ranges anywhere between 70 percent to 92 percent. I plan to get an M.Tech degree after completing my B.Tech course from an IIT if possible.
