Remarks

On a scale of 10. I will rate my college 9. As there is always room for improvement.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Well, by far it has been pretty good. The exam structure is quite good and helpful. Monthly tests are held. The whole course is indeed research-driven and totally fair. So far, it has played a big role in making me a better professional and I am pretty sure that in the next couple of years it is going to have a major impact on making my life a better one.

Placement Experience

4.5

Well, I don't actually know much of this stuff as I am a 1st-year student. But I have researched a bit and the companies that visit our college are namely, OIL India Ltd, NRL, Recom Infotech.NE Agency, Water Commission of India, Brio Energy Pvt. Ltd.Manikaran Power, Cognizant, Infosys, Vedanta Ltd. TCS, Zaloni, Dabur India, Dalmia Cements, and many more. Yes, our college has separate information classes to prepare the students for different job interviews and placement sessions.

College Events

5

Phoenix is the techno cum cultural annual fest of our college. It is held for three days in the month of July. Games, Sports, Dances, Singing, Talent Hunt, etc are some of the events held. The Technical fest is known as Technovus and is held for 2 days in the month of October.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is quite feasible. The semester fee is around 900 to 2000 depending on the semester you are in. You can pay online to the College account no. No, there aren't any other additional fees that had to be paid for admission. Yes, the college provides transparency.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes, the college has offered some scholarship opportunities for the students. But I don't match the eligibility criteria.

Campus Life

4

The gender ratio is like 35 out of 100 are girls. Students are friendly overall. They party together on weekends. Workshops are well maintained. Cultural societies do their jobs and are regular. Students are of different races and religions. The economic status of a student doesn't hamper friendship here.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

No, I haven't opted for hostels. I stay in nearby PG. The facilities are good. 24-hour water supply. Fairly good drinking water. Not the best food. Quite good room size. Attached bathrooms. Helpful seniors. The rent is 6000/month.

Alumni/Alumna

Not quite linked to the alumni network as I am new to the college. But the seniors that I have come in contact with so far are super helpful and they are ready to help me any time I want. I don't even need to buy books and other stuff as they are more than willing to give me theirs.

Admission

I got admission into this college by clearing the Combined Entrance Examination which is conducted by the govt. of Assam for students willing to pursue engineering in the esteemed govt. colleges of Assam. On the basis of the marks scored in the entrance exam, students get their seats.

Faculty

5

The faculty is good I would say. Most of them are highly trained professionals and they know exactly when and what to do. Most of them are cheerful and helpful at the same time. The average age could be around 50 and the qualification average is at least Master if not more.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not really good in our college, it is more of a research institute so it mainly focuses on PhD as PhD strength is good. Higher education is more prefered here but placement scenario is also good

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is very relevant and is different for different branches according to their needs. I was interested in civil engineering and chose the course and find the curriculum intersting and relevant for me . The curriculum offers subject which are important for real world applications, like in civil engineering it's offers subjects like building construction, solid mechanics, fluid mechanics, material testing, serving, etc. The course curriculum is very good but the teaching methods needs improvement like more digitalization . The exams frequency and timings are neither too late nor too early, they are perfectly planned and executed.

Course Curriculum Overview:

There exists a good teaching staff that's why the course is very easy to understand also teachers give us good examples also do practicals so that's students understand the course easily . I see that there exist a low no of equipments in practical lab compare to it's students ratio so if they have a good no of equipments then all students get equipment to do experiment without any waste of time . Time is good as compare to marks and the first 30 marks are beginner level the other 40 marks are intermediate level and the remaining 30 Marks are advanced level questions in a question paper for the students they published.

Placement Experience:

The placement scenario is quite good, with several reputed companies like General Electric, Power Grid Corporation of India, Goldman Sachs, among others recruiting 94 percent of the students in the college. The placement takes place in three rounds, one testing one's aptitude, followed by an hour round, finally leading on to a technical round. Mock interview and job cracking sessions are organized regularly, both by the departments, and also the Training and Placement Cell, to prepare students for the interviews and examinations going forward. The Training and Placement Cell also provides internship opportunities at the end of third year for the students, based on their aptitude and abilities

Remarks:

I have mostly positive remarks about college except for the fact that the college is situated really far from mainstream north India. Train connectivity is not that strong to rest of country. But despite that the college is extremely good in the sense of learning, meeting new innovative minds, and of course placements and jobs.
