Course Curriculum Overview

4

The most of the courses is designed to align with the current industry standards and practices. It includes jo to date content that prepares student for real world challenges and opportunities in their respective fields. The facilities are also highly qualified and knowledgeable. But I think some courses are out dated and they have no application in daily life scenario. The teaching methods are good but if they taught Course with daily life applications then it would me more interesting to learn. The frequency and timing of exams are well arranged. It gives us sufficient time to learn and master those courses. And the exams also gives us reminder when we get distracted from our study.

Internships Opportunities

5

The college has established strong partnerships with various industries, providing partnerships wirh various industries, providing students numerous internship opportunities. Some name of the companies those provide internships to students in our college is Hpcl , navi, qualcomm , piramal , gail , etc

Placement Experience

5

The college holds a high placement rate with a significant percentage of Students security jobs before graduation. The college attracts reputed companies e.g. google ,microsoft , bajaj, oracle, barclays , grow ,etc. for campus placement including top multinational corporations and leading firms in various sectors . Total 164 offers were made by 59 companies during last academic year(2022-23). In addition, IIT Guwahati students have already received as many as 214 pre placement offers during the academic year 2023-24. The highest package this year is 2.05 crore per annum. Placement rate is 72%. My plan is to get a good pre placement offers before my graduation .

Fees and Financial Aid

The annual fees is 68000. The tution fee is 1 lakh per annum. one time registration fee is 20000. If your income is less than 1 lakh then you can get 100 % tution fee waiver. The college has many scholarships like mcm , scholarship for sc/st students, etc.

Campus Life

5

My overall experience in my college is too good. Our college conducts many fests every year. Some popular fests of our college are alcheringa which is northeast biggest Cultural fest, technical (northeast biggest tech fest), spardha, Kriti, manthan(these are some inter hostel events). The collection of book in our library is huge and it is easily accessible for everyone. But I felt that some books are out dated the library. There is a wide range if extracurricular activities available from sports to cultural clubs, which provide students with opportunities to develop their skills and interest. Most of clubs, groups, fest are run or organised by the college students and it improves their management and leadership qualities.

Hostel Facilities

5

College provides bed , table , chair and 24 hr free wifi in every room of Hostels which is sufficient for a student life. The mess food is too good and the College maintains a very good hygiene inside the campus including mess to give a healthy environment to students. Registration process is very much simple. We have to register in our college website by logging in though the given credentials by the college. And the hostel rooms are always Available for students and they also give accomodation to parents when they come for a visit with their childrens.

Admission

I had cleared Jee and got admission to this college through josaa counselling. At first I was disappointed because I was hoping for more better college with good nirf rank but after spending some time in this college I felt that although my iit holds a 9 th nirf ranking in overall category still it gives good facilities more than the colleges those are above In the ranking list. It provides a very good environment for students.also the climate inside the college is too much attractive. The admission process in my college is though jee and gate exams. The cut-off are also high for our college because it hold a good nirf rank and also great placement.

Faculty

4

The faculty to student ratio is 1:15. The college boasts a strong academic reputation with Highly qualified faculty members who are experts in their fields. All the faculties and staff members are approachable and willing to help students with academic or personal issues. I like the way of teaching of professor somanath Majhi who teaches us Basic electronics. The most interesting part in his class is he keeps evryone engaged in the class which helps us to focus more in the lecture. There are total 4 exams in a semester i.e. 2 quiz , midsem and endsem. The question level in the quiz are moderate and everything they ask is from the lecture slides. But those who attend lecture properly easily clears the exam. The students those fail the exam it depends on the course like in some tough courses like MA101 some students fail. Most of the courses are relevant in the course curriculum because in first year they just building the basics.

Interview Experience

4

For the admission I have appeared for jee and though josaa counselling I got admission in this college .The written test is done in offline centres . There were two shifts for the exam . The exam was very much important to me .

Night Life

5

The college gives a very good environment for nightlife. You can access gym , cafeterias for the whole day time. The good thing for students is the library remains all time open for the students to learn more. There is specifically hostel time because many students study in the central library.every hostel has also a library where students can study at night.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not really good in our college, it is more of a research institute so it mainly focuses on PhD as PhD strength is good. Higher education is more prefered here but placement scenario is also good

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is very relevant and is different for different branches according to their needs. I was interested in civil engineering and chose the course and find the curriculum intersting and relevant for me . The curriculum offers subject which are important for real world applications, like in civil engineering it's offers subjects like building construction, solid mechanics, fluid mechanics, material testing, serving, etc. The course curriculum is very good but the teaching methods needs improvement like more digitalization . The exams frequency and timings are neither too late nor too early, they are perfectly planned and executed.

Course Curriculum Overview:

There exists a good teaching staff that's why the course is very easy to understand also teachers give us good examples also do practicals so that's students understand the course easily . I see that there exist a low no of equipments in practical lab compare to it's students ratio so if they have a good no of equipments then all students get equipment to do experiment without any waste of time . Time is good as compare to marks and the first 30 marks are beginner level the other 40 marks are intermediate level and the remaining 30 Marks are advanced level questions in a question paper for the students they published.

Placement Experience:

The placement scenario is quite good, with several reputed companies like General Electric, Power Grid Corporation of India, Goldman Sachs, among others recruiting 94 percent of the students in the college. The placement takes place in three rounds, one testing one's aptitude, followed by an hour round, finally leading on to a technical round. Mock interview and job cracking sessions are organized regularly, both by the departments, and also the Training and Placement Cell, to prepare students for the interviews and examinations going forward. The Training and Placement Cell also provides internship opportunities at the end of third year for the students, based on their aptitude and abilities

Remarks:

I have mostly positive remarks about college except for the fact that the college is situated really far from mainstream north India. Train connectivity is not that strong to rest of country. But despite that the college is extremely good in the sense of learning, meeting new innovative minds, and of course placements and jobs.
