Course Curriculum Overview

Jorhat Engineering College is known for its curriculum that integrates theoretical knowledge with practical applications. There are various labs available for all the departments of Jorhat Engineering College. The departments includes Electrical Engineering , MCA , Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering , Instrumentation Engineering. All courses are handled and managed by ASTU

Internships Opportunities

Students can apply for various internship of their own without any restrictions. Internship are mainly done at the end of a particular academic year. First internship is named Social Internship, second one is Academic Internship and third is Industrial Internship and at the final year there is a final year project done under particular professor provided by the HOD of the particular department. Apart from this students can apply for their own internship irrespective of college curriculum system.

Placement Experience

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes there are certain scholarship available for certain category/ section of people. Fees varies accordingly for boarders and non-boarders which are subject to difference according to different hostels and different PGs available. The Campus size is around 78 acres filled with lush greenery and blooming flowers and consists of eight boys hostel ,two girls hostel,one auditorium,one canteen, individual hostel field and one main field, JEC lake, Knowledge Park, Indoor Stadium, New Library, Alumni Building

Hostel Facilities

All the boys hostels have same design and are single floor except for Hostel 5 which is 3 storey and biggest hostel of JEC with capacity of 100 boarders and other hostels with a boarder capacity of 30-60 boarders. Course Curriculum Overview:

Most of the professors are good here.The college covers the core subjects required for strong foundation in engineering. However the theoretical coverage is good the scope for practical exposure is still required.

NIT Silchar Review: Campus, Career and Career Prospects

Placement Experience:

NIT Silchar has decent placement stat. Approx 75 percent student got placement from campus and they got decent package. In NIT Silchar from 7th semester students are eligible for placement and company comes whole year for recruiting. Approx 100 company visit the college throughout the year. In tech Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Walmart and more companies come. For core L&T, Adani, Tata Steel and more companies come. For service base Infosys, TCS, Wipro will come and give good offer. Highest package will come from tech company and that is 52lpa and average from all companies will lie from 10 to 12 lpa . My plans is that in my 4th year atleast I will get one job. If I don't get job then I will try from off campus or giving paper for government job

The placement is quite good in my college. In 7 th semester the placements start and the package goes from 16lpa to 2 cr . About 75 percent student who applied got placed . I want to work in a software firm.

Students normally appear for placements in fourth year with two placement seasons namely from december to january and february to march. Companies include quant companies and tech giants like JPMC, Reliance Industries, WellsFargo,Piramal, Standard Chartered,Texas Instrumentation, walmart, Microsoft, Amazon, Deloitte,Oracle, HCL, Barclays, Tata steel, uber, legato, Mastercard, Nutanix, BPCL, BEL,PWC, Socgen, etc. Almost 80% students get placed every year with the average package ?1,60,000. The highest package was 1.68 crore per annum from the branch of Computer Science.

Placement Experience:

only fourth year students are eligible for campus placements . the detalis of the visiting compaies are not thte sure but at least 10 stuents are placed each year from every single batch. the higest so far was 20 lpa and it was in amazon , the student who cracked that placement applied it off campus . on campus placement was not more than 10 lpa so far . the percentage of students getting placemnets are less than 50% not because of quality of placement but majority stuents opt for higher studies or goverment jobs rather than direct placement . my paln is to also pursue higher education
