Course Curriculum Overview

3

I'm a bcom programme student. I originally wanted bcom hons but I fell behind with my CUET marks. The syllabus for bcom programme and hons has little difference. Hons has more practical and complicated aspects while bcom prog is comparatively simple. NEP 2020 has announced 4 year research degree for bcom programme so I think that's good. If I get the option I would like to do 4 years of bcom prog. As we all know bcom programme has little to no scope of done alone so we have to do some extra course with it. Otherwise, it's pretty average.

Fees and Financial Aid

1 semester (6 month fees) For Bcom programme 10,000 1 year fee 20,000 No scholarship and financial help available for students As I'm from general category that's the fees for me. It may be less for reservation category.

Campus Life

3

Freshers for new students generally take place after the Student union is elected. It generally happens in 2nd sem. As for the fest, it takes place in March. I don't have much info about it since I'm a first year myself, but there is a fest Societies have their own events as well. All the subject and extra books are available in the library. The student union provide students with the pyq's before the exams in their group. There is a provision for sports in the college. Though the ground isn't that big, they do provide opportunities. There are many societies in the college. The student union helps the students so much whenever they need. There is also anti ragging policy here. Socialising is good too.

Admission

I got Motilal nehru (evening) before this one. I upgraded simply because it was evening college and I wanted to do morning one. My dream college was JMC, but I got less marks than expected in CUET so I couldn't get that. Sri Aurobindo College is not a recognised one, Most people haven't even heard of it before giving CUET. So as I was making my preference list I saw that this college came under south campus. That's why I placed it on 15th number. I got in this college through CUET, my score was 670. I wasn't happy with it but just went with what I got.

Faculty

I'm a first year student and Sri Aurobindo College. For Bcom programme 1st sem you'll have 7 subjects, 3 dsc, GE (english) and AEC (EVS), Sec and Vac (selective subjects). I have only spent 6 months here and haven't interacted with other facilities that much yet, but I think the commerce faculty is best. Teachers are good at their work (though there are some typical college professors who you would NOT want) but overall it's pretty good. Seniors are helping too. Exams are not so hard if you listen to your lectures. 2 dsc are mostly based on 12th subjects.

Interview Experience

2

In the college? No. I got direct admission through CUET. Though if you want to join societies, you would have to go through that. Preparation isn't necessary as they ask basic topics. There's a direct admission through CUET

Night Life

3

I'm a day scholar. But my friends live in pg and hostel. Except the food, it's all good. There areany cafes nearby (though a bit overpriced. There is a small restaurant nearby and it's affordable. Many students go there on daily basis. The location of the college is pretty good. There is a park nearby and we like to sit there. Malviya nagar metro station is next to hauz khas, so people can go there to hang out. There is Select City walk mall near if you want to go to watch movies and all. Overall pretty good.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I will rate the daulat ram course 8/10. One of the main reasons i chose this course was that the syllabus felt balanced between theory and practical understanding..but the only drawback is that sometimes it felt a bit more theory based rather than practical exposure , the exam pattern is consistent mid-sem internals and end-sem finals twice a year. Internals are usually manageable, but end-semester exams depend a lot on the teacher marking style.

Students of 3rd year are eligible for the same. Mckinsey, BCG, Bain, Blackrock, Meesho etc being the most prestigious recruiters. Highest package varies, but it went around 36 L last year. Avg being around 8 L. I would say most students who apply for placements get placed, however only a few get placed in the top companies. I personally wish to pursue an MBA.
