College of Technology, GBPUAT review

The course cirriculum is fine not very advanced up to modern date but decently good. This gap is filled by the experienced faculty. The relevance if i talk in %age is like 70-80%. There could be few improvements with coming up with courses of modern world interest. Building up more practical knowledge. THE EXAMS OCCUR ONCE IN (1.5) MONTH Hourly exams are of 1 hr each and final exam is of 2.5 hrs.

There are opportunities available but you need to work exceptionally hard as there are only a few and competitors are much more so one needs to work hard and smart. In the first and 2nd year there are no such projects which students work upon.

Once a student completes 3rd year or 6th semester he or she can now start to look for placements however can join only after completing his/her degree. students are encouraged to do that from the very end of their 1st year/2nd semester only. few students are also sent to internship on behalf of college itself to gain experience and knowledge, developing useful skills. Avg package of college: 6LPA Median: 3.5-4 LPA

Yearly fees Tution fees :50000 Others(library, sport, internet,exam fee, etc etc): 26000 Hostel: 40000 Total: 116000 (apprx) Scholarship 1. One can avail scholarship through the official NSP portal of GOI . 2. 100% tution fee waiver to students with annual income less than 1 lakh

Infrastructure is just good enough for students to gain experience , campus life is very good enjoying with friends here and there. The library is accessible to all the students and students can easily issue any book from the library. The central computing lab (CCF) is also a good place for students not having a laptop/computer to gain knowledge and access to internet. Classrooms are decent not much of modern infrastructure. Sports facilities are good and a student can take advantage of it in the" Stevenson Stadium" of the University. There are a few clubs and beauro's including Anugraha the music club, Malang the dance club, Cultural Beauro, Logistics Beauro, Alumni Cell, Science and litrary Beauro, Sports Beauro. Many events and extracurricular activities are conducted now and then and there's lot of fun.

In first year you get a triple sharing room. Which are decent . In 2nd year double sharing. In 3rd year and 4th year single sharing rooms No students very much like the washrooms, its just ok ok. Hostel mess is fine????...not much to expect????????. Registration process is simple just submit the semester fees and with the fee reciept enter the hostel its yours...????????

I did applied for some other colleges like Tulas institute dehradun, UPES dehradun and Graphic Era Dehradun, and also got confirmed admission but the major problem was that they were private colleges and the fees demand was way much more than my family's capacity to pay I chose College of Technology,GBPUAT because it was a government college, affordable fees, good reputation , very well spread successful alumni all across globe, old institution established in 1962 and its decent track record.

The faculty are well experienced with most of them being a P.H.D holder. Faculties are supportive and try to help the students as best as they can. They are approachable easily in college or even via whatsapp or other means of communication. Some faculties which i would like to mention are Rajesh singh sir[I.T] , Ashok sir[I.T], Sunil Sir[ Maths] Jaya bhaduria mam[Maths], Yogita mam[Maths], Kajal mam[Maths], D.S.Murthy Sir [Mechanical (Thermodynamics) ] , Sonika Chauhan mam[ (Engineering Mechanics) Mechanical], Sakshi Chauhan mam[ ( Material Science) Mechanical] Gagan dixit mam[Physics(classical mechanics)] Deepika mam[Physics(rigid body mechanics)], B.C Chanyal sir[Optics] and there are more. Exam Schedule In a particular semester we have.... 1st Hourly : 15 marks (if the subject has practical) otherwise 25 marks 2nd Hourly : 15 marks (if subject has practical) otherwise 25 marks Particals: 20 marks Final exams: [External] 50 marks Total :100 marks

The Hostels are decently good.The campus is fantastic and so much to explore but at the same time not much too. The Hostel in time is 9 p.m which is one of the things which students dont like and for girls its 7 p.m . Some places to hangout: Chhoti market, Badi market, Heart, FLP, CRC etc etc So overall life is good but night life just dont exist but students have lot fun in their hostels also foing mischief.
