Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum is designed in such a way that it goes hand in hand with real-life applications. Both theoretical as well as practicals are designed in such a way that we get an insight into how things work in real life. We also have mandatory projects which help us to build an understanding of how things work and implement our knowledge. Also, we have languages such as German, and Japanese in the curriculum and the faculties help to clear a particular level in the language proficiency test.

Internships Opportunities

4

There are various companies for internship opportunities. Well, I am not aware of particulars about internships but there was a student who had a monthly stipend of 100000 and was interning with Microsoft.

Placement Experience

4

The maximum salary offered during the placement drive was 61 lakh ctc. The major recruiter from the campus is Capgemini. Around 80% of students get placed.Companies like Accenture, cognizant, Wipro Kpit also come for recruitment

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee for me a general candidate was 1,63,000. The other fee I have to pay is the course registration fee which was around 3000 for sem 1. There are waiver schemes like tfws and scholarships for EWS categories and fee waivers for sc/st candidates though I am not aware of the fee paid by category student.Their was a scheme for free mess food for ews students.

Campus Life

4

The annual cultural fest swartarang is held every year during the month of January which is for 5 days.It has things like Cultural Day, Bollywood Day, music concerts, gathering etc. There is also a sports fest which goes by the name of Sangharsh which has a variety of sports and usually goes on for a month.PCCOE also has an event called Spectrum which is conducted by first-year students and is for first-year students. The college has a central library as well as departmental libraries. Central Library has books ranging from novels, study guides, core subject books, exam preparation books for gate etc. The campus has a basketball court which also doubles down as a badminton court. Also, the boys' hostel has a gym equipped with all the necessary equipment and the college has 2 grounds out of which one is used as a football field and on the other one various sports are played such as volleyball, cricket, handball, kabaddi etc. There are many clubs both technical as well as non-technical and each department has its own club which conducts events through out the year.Their is also student faction of GEEKSFORGEEKS.

Admission

The main reason I chose this college was because of its Autonomous status as well as good placements and a nice alumni network. There were many other colleges. In pccoe, you can get admission through MHT-CET as well as JEE. The eligibility is that you should have at least have cumulative percentage of 45% in PCM in your 12th boards. Most of the students prefer MHT-CET for pccoe but many also get through jee mains. The cutoffs are on the higher side though for the cs branch it is 99%tile in mht cet.

Faculty

4

Well, the faculty are approachable and are down to help during their free time. Well in a semester total of 3 written exams are conducted 2 unit tests which are called fa's and the end sem which is called sa.Also, practical exams are conducted. The level of the exam is easy to mediocre almost out of 60 most of the students clear the exam but there are certain subjects in a semester which many students fail to clear on the first attempt for us the subject was BEEE. But after SAs are done re-SA exams are conducted within 10-15 days and students who have failed in subjects during normal SAs give them. The difference is on the report card the score of the subjects of which you have given Re-SA will have a asterisk symbol next to it

Night Life

4

Well, the campus has many eating facilities. There is a boy's mess, a girl's mess,2 canteens, and a Nescafe outlet. Also, the campus is equipped with vending machines. Well, I don't know about the times of the girl's hostel for boys the hostel closes at 10 pm and the campus is accessible from 8:00 am. Famous hangout spots would be the Nescafe outlet and grounds. Locality of the college is one of the best localities in pcmc and is one of the safest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

One of the key aspects of the curriculum that influenced my decision to choose the B.Com course at Sydenham College was its strong foundation in core commerce subjects such as Accounting, Economics, Business Law, and Finance. The structured progression from basic to advanced concepts, along with exposure to subjects like taxation and auditing, made the program particularly appealing for students aiming for careers in finance, CA, CS, or management.

Placement Experience:

In my college students become eligible for campus placements from 7th semester and every year many companies come for hiring. Recently companies like TCS Accenture Cognizant Hitachi JSW Group Philips Axis Bank and some startups also visited so we get both IT and core chances. As per the latest data the highest package was around 24 LPA and the average stays around 6 to 6.5 LPA for most students and the lowest offers start from 3.5 LPA so it depends a lot on the role and company. Many students get placed but it mostly depends on skills performance and branch so it is not guaranteed for everyone. I feel the college gives decent chances but we also have to do our own preparation because competition is high. If I dont get placement from campus then I will try off campus also because there are many openings outside specially in IT. Overall placements are good for this level college and since companies keep coming for drives students who prepare properly usually get at least one offer.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculam is designed for all round development of the student and to make that person an expert in that field, these aspects influeneced me to choose it. Very well, with extra paper of real world application on each subject it ensures that we take something from the course and become industry ready The teachings methods and cirriculam are excellent I don't think any changes are required Exams are all year round, every month and are extremly difficult to deal with, as Xavier's bar is very high.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is also good and it is explained in detail on the college's website and there are labs for the courses which made learning fast and easy. Relevance(industry alignment)->8/10 The curriculum is designed to keep up with the industry needs especially in fast growing fields like computer science, management, design and pharmacy. Updated course such as AI, machine learning, cybersecurity, data science and 3D printing are included for tech students. Industry exposure depends on the students initiative it's not equally strong in every department. Comprehensiveness-> 7.5/10 First year courses focus on building strong basics in science, mathematics and communication skills. Later semesters introduce specialisation, electives, research projectsand soft skill training. The curriculum also includes personality development, entrepreneurship and innovation modules. A few departments could integrate new technologies fatser into the syllabus. Practical v/s theoretical balance: Labs, workshops and real world projects are a core part of the structure, especially in engineering, design, and science programs. CIA like case studies, presentations, and assignments encourage hands on learning. However, in some programs, there is a still heavier focus on the theory, so students must actively seek extra learning resources
