Likes

the campus is very beautiful and huge. There is a lot to explore.
The programs and concerts that take place here are the best compared to most of the colleges.
There are a lot of opportunities available here. There a lot of clubs available for enhancing our skills.

Dislikes

Nowadays the frequency of programs and concerts have reduced.
The equipment available in the labs are all old. That is for the mechanical and civil departments only, the computer labs and all are fine
There a lot of stray dogs around the campus, not only dogs but cows bulls and goats are also there, and they poop in the streets

Course Curriculum Overview

The course here is harder than the rest of the syllabus available. We need to score 50 marks in total to pass a subject, if we can score 24 internal we can just score 26 in sem exam which is compulsory.

Class Size: 120Course Fees: INR 60000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

Since i am having state merit admission I have less fees compared to All india merit and NRI candidates. The fee structure: tuition fee per semeseter Rs.23620 library fee Rs. 210 lab fee Rs. 545 quasi fee Rs. 210 extracuricular activities footnote Rs. 910 miscallenaous fee footnote Rs. 630 cuation deposit Rs. 1350 matriculation fee footnote Rs. 350 co curricular fee Rs. 140 total fee Rs. 27965 for sc/st candidates the total fees is 1350

Campus Life

The campus life here is really nice. The people here are from different cultures and nations. l made so many friends here who are really amazing people. The night life here is wonderful. The clubs that are available make it really enjoyable. There are a lot of cafe in and around the college and all the students visit either one of them at night making night time the best time to socialize.

Admission

I couldnt get into another college because of my low rank in other entrance exams. The only problem I see while comparing to other colleges is that our department doesn't have great placement opportuiities.

Faculty

The faculty are fine, at least most of them are. There are some who just want to see us suffer. The lab work is hectic. The lab assistants know all the stuff and try to cooperate with us but the faculty incharge most of the time knows nothing and makes us work unnecessarily .

Night Life

The night life is amazing here. There a lot of cafe, restaurunt and chilling spot all around the campus. There a lot of tourist attractions which are not that far from this location. The nightlife here is the best i guess We can go for a tea or even go have food even after 1 or 2 am.

An honest college review

Placement Experience:

From the 7th semester students become eligible for placements. The top recruiters in it sectors are Infosys, TCS, Cognizant, Tata Elxsi, Accenture, Oracle, Amazon, Wipro, UST GLOBAL, IBM. The top recruiters in other sectors are Mu Sigma, Ernst and young,, federal Bank, h and r block. Most of the placement are in it and related sectors. The average package is 4 to 6 lpa.The highest package is 34 lpa in Amazon. In 2024, 35 percent of students got placed. I will look to get campus placement in a reasonable package or I will try to get jobs by other means.

The placements here is quite promising particularly for computer science department. Over 70 to 80 percentage seniors secured scholarships. Major recruiters are firms like Tata , infosys , Wipro , IBM etc. The highest salary previous year was around 9 lakhs.

College Feels Like Home

Placement Experience:

The placement department in our college is great and is always trying to bring good companies to the college. The placement training starts from semester 7. Our top recruiter include Infosys, TCS, Wipro, NocoBD, Delloite, etc. and our mechanical, civil, EEE,ECE all got placements with avg of 4lpa.The highest package where 12 Lpa for SAP. My plans is to get a good job and lead a stable life.

They provide placement packages from a minmum of 4lpa to 12 lpa.. But most of the students got 4 lpa packages, it is very difficult to crack higger packages, but most of the cs students got placement andd students of other departments palcement is not good.

I have not applied for any other colleges in kerala as i consider Cochin univeristy a bit efficient than KTU also the location is a prime factor, as companies rely on location, airport is close to my campus, the railway station as well, transportaion is easy here .
