NMIT college review

As far as course curriculum is concerned, it's not that effective not in this college only but everywhere but still in that provided syllabus, I'm not that satisfied with the course curriculum of mechanical department, the way they divide and implement the syllabus for each semester. Course curriculum mechanical = 5/10

Yes, it has an internship as a part of the curriculum. Or self study or a mini project. Any one of the 3 is compulsory. College professors can refer if u approach them. Even our college provides internships of robotics and related course in our college itself. No paid (stipend) internships are offered by our college. The robotics internship which college provided is worth it.

Placements are very good initially but as time fleets it just gets tougher n tougher.As far as Mechanical is concerned, College allows u to sit for most of the companies visiting the college. The basic package is 3-4 lakhs per annum. Rarely do companies come up with more than 7 lakhs per annum. In Mechanical NMIT is better in placements n job opportunities over its competitor colleges. And CS/IS/EC has a great chance of being placed as a lot of companies preferably come for those branches which is quite common in other colleges as well.

Yantra - Mechanical department fest is celebrated in our college every year Likewise each and every department organises their own department fest With their own names. Anaadyantha - It is the annual college fest which goes on for 3 days. Day 1 - Technical programs and events Day 2 - Ethnic, fashion show, prize distribution, non-technical Day 3 - Entertainment, DJ night. And other guest lectures on various topics in various departments are organised.

Fee structure is very expensive according to me. Let me be clear College fee is 30000/- per year and it doesn't include exam fee. • 500-600 is collected for annual fest every year • 200-500 is collected for branch fest every year. • 5000 is collected for parking inside college every year • 10000 is the minimum transport fee and goes on up to 18000 based on distance. • miscellaneous fees are many. This is the most irritating thing about this college. If u r on a higher middle class it doesn't matter but others suffer.

Scholarships are not offered in college but if students have applied for government scholarships then well colleges receive and give it to students. But college provides the extension date of fee very rarely and very few can get it by continuous approach of students with college management with their parents. Do this only if you can't pay the fees within preferred dates. Loan facility is not offered by the college

Extracurricular activities are good comparatively. College has a 1) Cricket team which plays for VTU tournaments 2) basket ball team 3) hockey team 4) dance team 5) Art club 6) cultural Committee 7) SAE (mech) 8) Supra(mech) Etc. Rating - 8/10

Hostel infrastructure is good and maintained correctly and washrooms are all fine without much of a trouble. Hostel fees is decent compared to other colleges that is 57000 per year worth a mess charges of 2500-2700 every month. Hostel rating - 7/10.

Offcourse Yes.The senior students comments on the college were very helpful but it helps on 1 simple funda. Always get a review about the particular course which u want to opt for.If u wanna join CS, get reviews only from CS students, passouts only.U can't listen to a mech reviewing a CS faculty or vice versa.

I had my cousin sister who graduated from this college so she described the facts and information that I needed about the college I had to compromise with some difficulties as well but again it's the placements factor that made me opt for this college and college is now NAAC accredited So college has a great reputation in the country. So I got into this final.

Only a few faculty of our college are actually the Professors, most of Others are associate and assistant professors. As far as mechanical department faculties are concerned, only a very few make the curriculum and lecture interesting and worth it. I'm not sure what's gonna happen in other branches! Think twice before joining to Mechanical in this college and get the review of just passed out seniors or prefinal year students about the current situation. Mechanical faculty - 5/10
