Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course undergoes a syllabus change every 3 years and it is well updated to the current scenerio or what we say " what the industry needs". The course provides an internship break during the end of each semester so that each student can enhance their practical knowledge outside the course. This will also enable students to make a good network with the companies and stakeholders etc. The college also has a good alumni network that enables to get internships and placements. When it comes to the frequency and timing of the exams in the odd semester each month has each assignment except the month of June the last assignment will be in October and that is our end semester after that a break then the even semester is a short semester the number of classes provided is less compared to that of odd semester it is roughly 3 months avoiding all the holidays and so on, it is very hectic for students to cover a lot of topics in a short period of time . It generally takes 4-5 months to properly complete a subject but due to the lack of time, the professors will rush up on to finish . It further adds to the stress-level of the students as the exams are nearing but the portions are yet to be completed

Internships Opportunities

4

Mostly we have to find internships on our own, the has an internship committee and all but most of people will find internships on their own only rather than preferring to internship committee and all. This course does provide any stipend while you are interning generally especially during your college days, once you are out you might get into some good firms that will provide you a good amount as a stipend and all, other than that there is nothing much on the topic of stipend. When it comes to the project and all it is like we have our freedom, we can do anything by our own idea and if we need help we can ask the faculty for it .

Placement Experience

4

For placements, if you want to be seated in the placement cell you should have at least 6cgpa. Other than that the placements are solely related to your individual CV there is nothing the college can do about, if you don't have a good CV so it is necessary for the students to build a nice CV along their grades. The percentage I am not that sure about the placement and all, as I said earlier it is solely based on your performance. My plan after this course is to get a job and I hope it will happen

Fees and Financial Aid

The total fee is 2.45 lakhs per year for all non -Kannada students( basically from other state ) and it is 2.20 lakhs for kananda students . NRI students have a package of around 4 lakhs per annum . That's it regarding the fee

Campus Life

4

We have a lot of festivals and so on . The college is almost packed with events there are a lot of commities and so on they will organise their flagship events and so on , other than that each department have their own events it would be sometimes co -curricular related sometimes dance , music and so on . Mostly all the classrooms have proper smartclass and all with speaker and so on , the infrastrcture is nice. When ti comes to sports they also provide importance to sports their is a speciliased coach for all kinds of sports and our basketball team is now qualified for the khleo india youth games and all so overall the sports environment is also not that bad . The thing is that the students have to find the balance between th co-curricular and other activities

Admission

Mainly I focused on getting into NLU via clat but i didnt got admission because of my low marks after that the best choice was christ in terms of affordability and all most of the other private colleges have a big fee amount to be paid by the end of the course that is the main reason that i took this course

Faculty

3

The faculty ratio is good they have a lot of faculty for each subject and so on. The course is 5 yrs, with 10 semesters it is a combined degree of BA and LLB, till the 3rd semester we will be having BA papers after that it is totally law papers only. We have internal marks and main sem marks. The internal mark is taken by 3 internal assessments that is 2 assignments and a mid-semester this will amount to the internal marks and we have to pass those the total should be 40% of the total marks if you don't have, you will be considered as internal fail and have to pay a sum of 10,000/paper. For passing the end semester the criteria is also 40 percentage marks for each paper. The marking scheme is stringent unlike most of the colleges just writing won't get you marks you have to write the points and underline the same so that the examiner can easily notice it and put marks, if you are cooking up stories for your law paper they will just strike down. for BA papers it is a but different you have to write a lot but it doesn't mean to write general stuff you have to write something better so that you can score good marks or else your marks would be around 50% only it won't come up

Night Life

5

Nightlife is like chill ,just 300m away from our central campus we have pubs and all so it is chill. I dont usually engage in nightlife kind of stuff so I am not that much aware about it . They have a library actually 2 library they work along with the college working hours , the gym facility is not that good but it is underconstruction only actually

Placement Experience:

The placements of Christ University Bangalore, are pretty decent. Students are eligible to get placements for the 9th semester, and there are a lot of companies that come for campus placements like Shardul Amrchnad Mangaldas and Cyril Amrchand Mangaldas, Khaitan, Puviyah and co., Trilegal and etc. The highest placement that went last year was 23 lakh, and the average placement is 6-7 lakhs. My plan is to do litigation after getting a degree.

It's the law firms like Wadia Gandhy, Dsk Legal, Trilegal and others. Some merchant bankers too are now a part of our placements thing and this is where it is getting interested as we are getting to explore new opportunities. Pay as of now is around 4-5 LPA but I hope it increases to atleast 10 by 2030.

Placements are okay not so good because of the field as Law doesn't have much placements because it is only given in corporate sector and other things people only have to get employment like for Self employment.

The university has a placement cell which is helpful. They help us get internships in which place we want (only if we are eligible). The placements are nice which are reported by the seniors. We got to know that most of the seniors had a starting package of 7L per annum.

Mostly it's the law firms like Indus Law, Globus, PICT and others. The payment scale therefore is less when it is compared with NLSIU or other NLUs. Some private companies like the UB Group and ITC amoung other others are also coming to hire students who have chosen corporate law as their main electives.
