Course Curriculum Overview

The course Curriculum is compact yet comprehensive which provides a vast range of knowledge and ideas to the student. It improvises and enhances opportunities related to open minded ideas. Materials provided are easily understandable.

Class Size: 20Course Fees: INR 40000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees structure for ba sociology hons is 40000 per year. Scholarships is provided to excelling students. There is no lab work in sociology programme so no lab fees is applicable wheres other departments like JMC, geography, etc has lab fees.

Campus Life

Our college runs a well equipped and well maintained library. We have a clean and sanitized canteen with wide range of food options. The clubs in our college are heterogeneous with wide range of cultural involvement.

Admission

It is one of the renowned colleges in Kolkata especially for ba sociology hons which made me choose this college for my undergraduation. The admission process is smooth and entirely based on merit and there is no GD/PI rounds.

Faculty

The faculty members of college are very helpful and responsible. They try their best to clear our doubts. The course is structured in such a way that provides us detailed knowledge of the programme. There are 6 semesters in CBCS conducted twice a year. The time period given for the exam is 3 hours for 80 marks and the paper is usually lengthy which increases the difficulty level.

Night Life

Shri Shikshayatan College has a well equipped gym and a nice cafeteria. They provide books for all streams and students can hangout in our large campus area where one will find lot of greenery and fresh air.

Course Curriculum Overview:

There are several prospects, especially peer-to-peer counseling, where you get a mentor. We call it mentor mentee program. So, there will be groups of students, and each group will have a mentor who helps you whenever you face any issues whether in real life or in your academic journey. They’re always there for you. There are also remedial classes, and extracurricular activities are included in the curriculum. You even get the freedom to choose what you want to pursue creatively, like joining poetry clubs and similar groups. Right now, I’m at Banaras University, and the curriculum here is really good. We have sessions on public speaking, how to conduct interviews, and many other practical skills. These are highly commendable because they help you in professional situations like the one I’m in now. However, I would say that teachers could be a bit more active with electronic tools like using PPT presentations or audio-visual methods instead long lecture sessions. As for exams, I wouldn’t say they’re too difficult because there are many weekly assessments and sessionals, which actually help you evaluate yourself better.

Review of the college where i spend three long years and gathered every knowledge that is available there.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I used to read so many novels from my childhood and that inspired me in getting attracted to this field. We used to have the fecility of having seminar in the end of every month after compleating of each lessons. And this process helped us in true education. After every year professors from differnt parts of the country used to come for a seminer for overall groth of the students. Actually is theory teaching style is followed in the college, according to me some developments in the practical teaching can be used. Semister is held at the end of every six months and the exams are used to be moderate in nature.
