Course Curriculum Overview

2

Since the college is autonomous under VTU, it still has to follow the guidelines set by VTU. VTU syllabus for all years is rather outdated and not applicable to real life engineering. The teaching methods are rather orthodox in the college with boards still used in theory classes. First years have three internals and one sem end exam per semester. the difficulty of said exams is moderate and can be cleared with modest study.

Internships Opportunities

2

I am a first year so I don't have any idea how internships work in the college. I've seen a few seniors in their 3rd year get internships in companies by networking and recommendations. i think the college doesn't have many internship oppurtinities.

Placement Experience

2

I'm unsure as I am still a First year. They debriefed us about the placements in the inaugral program. On average it seems like 7L-8L seems to be the average package for upper branches like CS, ECE . Can't say the same for other branches as the placement cell head is pushing other branches to get into software dev and calls it essential to get placed. Highest package was around 50L and it was a CSE student in recent years.

Fees and Financial Aid

I joined through COMEDK Total college fee (paid to COMEDK): 281477 Lab and other fees (paid to college): 30000 Total fees:311477 KCET Base fees:140000 lab and other fees: 30000 Management Base fees: 400000 + Scholarships such as reliance foundation can be used for financial aid

Campus Life

4

the annual fest is called furore. The cultural team called CULT runs a fest vibrations which lasts for three days. Nearly all clubs have their own fests which usually happens in september - december. the library is vast and has resources for all branches. facilities in classrooms are modest. I believe each classroom has a projector. there are many clubs which have many rounds of interviews to get in.

Admission

I only went through the COMEDK counselling process. I had got various colleges like BIT, BNMIT and RNSIT in various rounds. I got DSCE in the third round. I believe it to be a better college overall compared to the forementioned colleges. I had tried for PESU and was unable to crack PESSAT. I'd say it's because i had not studied JEE grade questions. I was unable to join subjectively better colleges in B'luru like BMS, RV and MSRIT because of my KCET and COMEDK rank.

Faculty

3

the faculty to student ratio is good ( i don't have an exact number ). Most teachers aren't that great in the first sem. But they are lenient and understanding. Our IEE teacher is a horrid educator and has very strict evaluation methods. FYs have three internals out of which all three's average are taken. The difficulty is moderate. AFAIK none of my peers have failed.

Night Life

3

There are many gyms around the campus as the no.of students are many. There are a good no.of restaurants around the campus. Hostel gates close at 10 PM i believe. I think the locality is pretty safe in the night.

The placement scenario in our college is decent, especially for students from core technical branches like CSE, ISE and Electronics. Over the past few years, the placement statistics have shown a steady improvement

Placement is good, every student who tries to get placement will surely be placed in campus placements, but off campus would be difficult as this cllg is a tier-3 cllg, so many companies reject in resume shortlisting. Maximum every CSE student will get placed but max of them would get placed at an offer of 3.5 or 4.5lpa

I would say academic wise. There is nothing much happening right now in first year, but then there are many events like hackathons happening where and we can participate and learn a lot even our first year and we have English film and Japanese film, which is basically a whole language club and there are a lot of activities happening such as debate and all, which is obviously helping us gain a lot of public speaking skills and confidence.
