We specifically study about circuit analysis and electrical machines in our electrical engineering. In laboratory we study about how electrical machines work in different circuits and different connections. We also study about analog electronics circuit. We are tested in our laboratory to perform practicals. We are also given assignments and questioned well in our viva to prepare us for our future campus selections. The question paper is equally difficult to make us ready for seminars and project preparation.

We have so many clubs like : Literary club : SOUL Dance club : ANONYMOUS Acting club : NUKKAD NATAK Singing club : UMEED Photography club : DRISHYA Sports club : IGIT E-SPORTS etc Igit provides a wide variety of opportunities for students to get into clubs and showcase their talents. Igit provides so many fests, competitions and programmes etc . AROHAN is our annual year fest which is celebrated for 3 days in igit every year . Horizon’ by Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology, ‘Sarang’ is one of the biggest fests in Orissa which spans across 3 to 4 days and offers students opportunities to participate in more than 50 different competitions. Artists like DJ Shireen and Harshit Saxena have performed during the fest and it is expected to get bigger this year! Sanskrash is our branch fest which also spans for 3 days and freshers is given to the juniors and farewell is given to the seniors in this fest . EPL is a sports fest that is electrical premiere league in this fest all types of games are included which is played between faculties and students also between juniors and seniors .

There are 2 girls hostel in Igit: 1. Rohini Bhawan: For 1st year and 2nd year (BTECH), MCA and diploma students. In btech block we have 3 storey building each floor having four bathroom each containing 3 bathrooms, 3 toilets , 3 wash basins and 1 washing machine. Each floor containg 20 rooms . In each each room there are 6 beds , 3 cupboard containg 12 shelves , 4 tables , 3 fans , 3 lights and 3 windows . We have 1 mess in our hostel and we have water filter in each floor . 2. Prithvi Bhawan is for 3rd year and 4th year BTECH girls . Then there are 6 boys hostel . I live in Rohini Bhawan and food here is really nice and it feels like home . Mess fees is 18500rs per semester .

I chose this college for this particular branch . Electrical engineering is a very respected branch in our college as many industries are built near this area which take students from campus selections. And most students prefer electrical engineering in our college than any other branch because it provides wide range of job opportunities as it has the best experienced faculties and effective equipments for laboratory practicals. As it is a core branch students can opt for both core as well as non- core jobs . Students are equally prepared for IT jobs being in electrical branch . Therefore our strength is the most compared to other branches . Although girls to boys ratio is very less . Therefore it makes easier for girls to get placed in this branch .

Faculties are very talented and hardworking specially Electrical branch faculties are very particular about their work . We have regular classes and we even have extra classes . We have classes from morning 8am to 12:10 am then we have lunch break then again we have classes from 2pm till 4:30 pm . We have holiday on second Saturday. This is my 4th semester so I have subjects like: Signals and system Organizational behaviour Digital electronic circuits Control system engineering Electrical Machines We have two internal exams of 15marks each and then end semester exams also including laboratory practical exams , viva assignment submission and overall attendance of each subject.

We have an amazing park in our college campus and an old canteen where we can hang out and chill . We can also go around the market place . Girls are allowed till 6:30pm after which it is not safe for us, whereas boys donot have any specific time limit . We also have library where both boys and girls can study , we are also provided with study materials , books , comics, newspapers, PCs etc. We also have a cafeteria in our campus where we can chill , eat and have fun . One thing is very amazing in our area that we can order food efficiently without any extra delivery charge and food here is cheaper compared to other places . Famous hangout places include Ashtasambhu temple, Anantshayan, Rajbati palace, Black diamond library , Jagannath temple, Eco park , etc
