Course Curriculum Overview

4

I would say the course curriculum is quite relevant and covers most of the important subjects needed for the field, which is one of the main reasons I chose this course. It gives a strong base in fundamentals and helps in understanding how concepts are used in real situations, although practical exposure depends largely on projects and self-learning. The curriculum is suitable for both higher studies and starting a professional career, but it can be improved by adding more industry-focused content, practical sessions and modern tools. Exams are conducted regularly with two internal tests and one final exam each semester, and the difficulty level is moderate, making it easy to manage with consistent preparation.

Internships Opportunities

1

Internship opportunities through the college are limited, and in most cases students are expected to find their own internships. The college does share occasional information or notices about internships, but there is no fixed list of companies offering regular, paid internships through the campus. Most students secure internships on their own through online platforms, referrals, or direct applications, usually in roles like software intern, data analyst trainee, web developer, core engineering trainee, or research assistant, sometimes with stipends depending on the company. During these internships, students typically work on small projects such as application development, data analysis tasks, documentation, testing or basic fieldwork, and the outcomes mainly include project reports, certificates and practical exposure, which help in building resumes rather than guaranteed placement support from the college.

Placement Experience

3

I would rate the placements at my college as 3 out of 5. Students usually become eligible for campus placements from the sixth or seventh semester, and a few well-known companies do visit the campus every year. The placement cell helps with basic training like resume building and interviews, and many students, especially from IT branches, manage to secure jobs. At the same time, the average salary packages are not very high and top roles are limited, so a lot of students also focus on skill development, off-campus opportunities or higher studies after completing their degree

Fees and Financial Aid

The university's annual fees were rupees 1,75,000, excluding the hostel accommodations. During the time of joining, we were asked to deposit a sum of rupees 20,000 as a caution fee. We were asked to pay a sum of 3000 rupees as registration fees for every semester, which brings the registration fees to rupees 6000. At the time of joining the institute, all the admission fees, development fees, lab fees, and all the charges that were added were included in the admission fees of rupees 1,75,000. While joining, there was a fee difference depending upon your chosen branch, but no difference based on category, like a few of my friends were from the electrical branch, their fees were rupees 1,70,000. Since I joined college on the basis of merit, I have no idea about the Management, SC, and ST category fees. The college provides financial aid and scholarships such as e-Kalyan and state scholarships. There is merit cum financial aid, which is given to top performers.

Campus Life

4

Overall, campus life at CV Raman Global University is decent and balanced. The university hosts annual cultural like celegance and technical festivals like, usually held between January and March, which give students a chance to participate in cultural, technical and fun activities. The central library is well stocked with textbooks, reference books and journals related to different courses, and students can access both physical and digital resources easily. Classrooms are equipped with basic technology such as projectors, smart boards and Wi-Fi, though the quality may vary across buildings. The campus offers good sports facilities including grounds for cricket, football, badminton and indoor games, along with other extracurricular activities. There are several student-run clubs and societies, such as cultural, technical and literary clubs, which help students socialize, showcase their talents and make campus life more engaging.

Admission

I chose CV Raman Global University over some other colleges I applied to mainly because it offered my preferred course with reasonable fees, decent infrastructure and an acceptable placement record. I had also applied to a few government and well-known private colleges, but I could not secure admission there due to higher cutoffs, strong competition and rank limitations in entrance exams. Compared to those colleges, CVRGU provided quicker confirmation, flexible admission timelines and a clear course structure, which made the decision easier. The admission process was smooth and student-friendly, based on eligibility criteria like minimum marks in Class 12 for UG courses, and it accepts exams such as JEE Main along with merit-based admissions. Most students prefer JEE Main, though cutoffs are moderate compared to top-tier colleges. Overall, the admission experience was straightforward, with proper guidance from the admission office and minimal complications.

Faculty

3

At CV Raman Global University, the faculty–student ratio is fairly balanced, so students can interact with teachers without much difficulty. Many professors are friendly and approachable, especially when it comes to clearing doubts before exams, though the level of personal guidance depends on the individual teacher. Senior and experienced faculty members are usually well liked because they explain concepts clearly and focus on what is important for exams, while some junior or visiting faculty are less preferred due to unclear teaching and a very theory-based approach. The course follows a credit-based system with a mix of theory, labs, projects and internships. There are usually two internal exams and one end-semester exam, and the difficulty level is moderate—students who attend classes regularly generally pass, while a small percentage struggle in tougher subjects. Internal marks come from tests, assignments and attendance, and overall the syllabus is relevant, though practical learning depends a lot on how much effort the student puts in.

Interview Experience

4

No, I didn't faced any GD/ interview questions but there was a online proctored test CUET. After clearing the test you will receive a mail after which you will be asked to pay the college a certain amount of the tution fees Eligibility criteria - 65% in 10th & 12th I prepared just as JEE Mains.

Night Life

1

Nightlife around the campus is very restricted due to strict rules. Students are not allowed to go outside the campus at night without proper permission or an official pass. Inside the campus, most facilities like the library, gym, cafeteria and common public areas close by evening. Hostel timings are strict—the boys’ hostel gate closes at around 11:00 PM, while the girls’ hostel gate closes much earlier, around 6:30 PM. Because of these rules, students usually unwind by spending time inside their hostels, talking with friends, watching movies, studying together or using common rooms. There are no late-night hangout places outside the campus, and students generally stay within the campus boundaries, which makes hostel life and peer bonding the main part of the nightlife experience.

Placement Experience:

Placements at KIIT University for B.Tech CSE are decent and well structured, especially for students who prepare consistently. Students become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester, although pre placement talks training sessions and internships start from the 5th or 6th semester. The university has a centralized placement cell that coordinates training aptitude tests mock interviews and company drives. Many reputed companies visit the campus every year including TCS Infosys Wipro Accenture Cognizant Capgemini Deloitte EY Mindtree LTI Bosch HP Amazon and a few product based startups. Mass recruiters make a large number of offers while product and service based companies offer selective roles. The average package for CSE students usually ranges between 4 to 5 LPA, while the highest package can go above 20 to 25 LPA in exceptional cases depending on the company and role such as software developer or data engineer. Around 75 to 85 percent of CSE students get placed through campus placements. Students who remain unplaced usually pursue higher studies startups off campus jobs or competitive exam preparation. Placement success largely depends on individual effort coding skills internships and communication ability. After completing my degree I plan to work in the software industry to gain practical experience and improve my technical skills. Alongside my job I also plan to upskill in advanced technologies and later consider higher studies or specialized roles depending on career growth.

Placement Experience:

Placements at IIIT Bhubaneswar are generally good and improving, especially for students who stay consistent with coding, projects, and internships. In my college, students usually become eligible for campus placements from around the 7th semester (4th year), while many students start getting internship opportunities and pre-placement offers from the 5th–6th semester itself depending on skills. Every year, companies from the software and IT domain visit the campus for roles like Software Developer / SDE, QA, Analyst, Web Developer, and sometimes Data-related roles, and students also get offers through off-campus applications. Some of the common recruiters include companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, Accenture, along with product/startup opportunities depending on the year, and multiple students receive more than one offer as well. The highest package and average package vary every year and depend a lot on branch, performance, and market conditions, but overall the college provides decent placement support and training sessions like aptitude, DSA guidance, and interview preparation. The placement percentage is also fairly good for students who actively participate in the placement process, while the rest generally go for higher studies or off-campus roles. After completing my degree, my plan is to either secure a good software developer role through campus/off-campus and build experience, or if I feel more interested academically, I may prepare for higher studies or competitive exams along with improving my skills.
