Remarks
The only college in DU which is really strict when it comes to attending the classes, if your attendance is less than 67% they will not issue your admit card unless you submit an affidavit and that's not enough you'll be lectured by 3 teachers for hours, literally for hours.
Course Curriculum Overview
The content is almost similar in every college affiliated with Delhi University, and Ramanujan College is no exception, many of my friends study in different colleges in the university, and more or less we've same subjects. But in every semester you'll be having a choice among 2-3 subjects to study.
Internships Opportunities
Yes, the placement cell of this college is doing a well job in providing internships to their students. You'll see good companies are coming to the campus for hiring interns. I personally recommend you not to look at the stipend as a deciding criteria, if you are going for an internship look at the exposure you will get from the internship. Stipend in the internships provided by this college can range from 5k to13k (per month). I've not seen anyone getting a stipend of more than 13k in my 3 years here.
Placement Experience
Placements are not great but not also bad, around 40% of the companies coming in the campus, recruit for their BPO's providing a salary of around 1.5-3 lakhs. And 30% of the companies recruit for sales profile proving a salary of around 3-3.5 Lakhs. And remaining 30% companies are good for commerce students, as they provide Financing, HR and analytics roles with a salary ranging from 3.5-4 Lakhs. (All figures are approximation)
College Events
University of Delhi is a famous hub for annual fest celebrations. And in Ramanujan College we celebrate a lot of functions, as it has a huge number of societies, they conduct thier own functions every year, and the annual fest is conducted in this college in the month of February, where a celeb comes for the entertainment of the students. DJ nights are also there in the annual fest.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Being a college affiliated with the centeral government, it has a feasible fee structure which is very low as compare to the private colleges providing the same courses. For the B.com(H) course the fee is around 12k to 13k for a whole year. I'm not sure about other courses but the maximum fee for any course is around 25k-26k and that is for B.sc Computer Science.
Fees and Financial Aid
Many scholarships are available to the students of the backward casts (OBC, SC, ST etc). One of my friends has availed a scholarship of 5k a year for the entire course of 3 years from the college. The placement cell of Ramanujan College even invites different companies to provide scholarship to the needed students.
Campus Life
Extracurricular activities are at par with the different colleges under Delhi University. The college provides a good platform for the students who want to do something apart from thier studies. Medical facilities are also provided to all the members of the college. There are huge number of competitions in which students can participate and showcase their talent.
Hostel Facilities
Ramanujan College does not provide any hostel facilities to it's students. As a newly incorporated college, this college is little on the back side when it comes to infrastructure, but many affordable paying guests(PG) are available near Ramanujan College.
Alumni/Alumna
This college has only the base of 8 years, so, it's alumni network is not at the par as compare to the different colleges of DU. But, In my tenure of 3 years here I've seen many helping seniors who were always there for the help whether its about academics, competitions, fun, bunking the classes, buttering the teachers and what not.
Exam Structure
There is no exam for any course in this college all the admissions are solely on the basis of Merit-lists, on student's 12th class's marks. Except one course i.e, BMS (Bachelor of Management Studies), a combined exam is conducted for all the colleges in Delhi University. Theexam consist of 4 main topics these are Aptitude, Data Interpretation, Reasoning and General Knowledge.
Admission
I got admitted to Ramanujan College solely on the basis of my marks that I've scored in 12th class, as I'd opted for their B.com(H) course which has only merit-list base entrance criteria. Otherwise, you can also opt for BMS course, if you're a commerce student, which has entrance-test base criteria. Other courses have only merit-list base entrance criteria.
Faculty
I have already mentioned that faculty is one of the reasons why I picked this college over others. To be fair enough, government colleges in India are not that good when it comes to the quality of teaching, but in Ramanujan College you will find a lot of teachers who put efforts in their respective classes, there are plethora of good teachers to support you even in your emotional ups and downs.
